Role Description The Laser Tracker Engineer is a full-time remote role responsible for delivering precision measurement and alignment services using laser tracker systems and related metrology tools. Day-to-day tasks include planning and executing 3D measurement jobs, setting up and calibrating Leica Laser Trackers and other equipment, capturing and analyzing measurement data, and preparing clear, structured inspection reports for clients. The role involves collaborating with customer engineering and production teams to define measurement requirements, troubleshoot alignment issues, and recommend metrology-based solutions that enhance quality and efficiency.

Engineer may support projects across multiple industries, coordinate remote support, and occasionally travel to customer sites as required. This position requires consistent documentation, adherence to safety and quality standards, and continuous learning of new metrology technologies and software.

Qualifications Experience with precision metrology equipment such as laser trackers, portable CMMs, and 3D scanning systems, including setup, operation, and basic maintenance.

Strong skills in 3D measurement and data analysis using metrology software (e.g., spatial analysis, alignment, GD&T; interpretation, and report generation).

Knowledge of industrial applications in sectors such as automotive, aerospace, heavy engineering, or manufacturing, with an understanding of production and quality workflows.

Solid technical aptitude, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to diagnose measurement or alignment issues and propose practical solutions.

Effective communication and collaboration skills, including clear technical writing, client-facing interaction, and remote coordination with project teams.

Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple projects, and maintain attention to detail under time constraints.

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Metrology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Willingness to travel to customer sites when needed and comply with safety, quality, and documentation standards.
