Role & responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced LabVIEW Engineer to design and implement automated test systems for medical device development and validation. The role involves creating robust, compliant LabVIEW applications for functional testing, calibration, and verification of medical instruments, ensuring adherence to FDA, IEC 60601, ISO 13485, and ISO 14971 standards. You will work closely with R&D;, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory teams to deliver safe, reliable, and traceable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Develop LabVIEW-based automated test systems for medical device verification, calibration, and production testing.

Integrate NI hardware (PXI, cDAQ, cRIO) with medical sensors, actuators, and measurement instruments.

Implement TestStand sequences for compliance-driven test automation and reporting.

Ensure regulatory compliance with FDA 21 CFR Part 11, IEC 60601, ISO 13485, and ISO 14971.

Design traceable data logging and reporting systems for audit readiness and quality management.

Collaborate with QA and Regulatory teams to define test coverage, risk mitigation, and validation protocols.

Develop robust error handling and fail-safe mechanisms for patient safety and device reliability.

Support verification & validation (V&V;) activities, including IQ/OQ/PQ documentation.





Maintain documentation per medical device lifecycle requirements (Design History File, Device Master Record).

Drive continuous improvement in test efficiency, compliance, and reliability.

Must-Have Qualifications

5+ years LabVIEW development experience (Windows and/or Real-Time).

NI Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD) or equivalent; CLA preferred.

Solid experience with NI hardware (PXI/cDAQ/cRIO) and instrument control.

Familiarity with TestStand for automated test sequencing and compliance reporting.

Knowledge of medical device standards: IEC 60601, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, FDA 21 CFR Part 11.

Expertise in data integrity, audit trails, and electronic records compliance.

Strong understanding of risk management and traceability requirements in regulated environments.

Preferred Skills

LabVIEW RT/FPGA for deterministic control in safety-critical systems.

Experience with sensor calibration, electrical safety testing, and EMC compliance.

Familiarity with ISO 17025 calibration standards.

Integration with database systems (SQL) for secure data storage and retrieval.

Knowledge of Python/C# interop for analytics and reporting.

Exposure to IEC 62304 (medical software lifecycle) and ISO 14971 (risk management).
