Job Title: Consultant Ophthalmologist – Phaco Surgeon

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Consultant Ophthalmologist (Phaco Surgeon) to join our eye care team in Agartala. The ideal candidate should have expertise in performing Phacoemulsification Cataract Surgeries independently while delivering comprehensive ophthalmic care with a strong focus on patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Perform Phacoemulsification Cataract Surgeries independently with excellent surgical outcomes.
Diagnose and manage cataract, glaucoma, refractive errors, diabetic retinopathy, and other ophthalmic disorders.
Conduct comprehensive OPD consultations and eye examinations.
Perform pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-ups.
Counsel patients regarding diagnosis, treatment options, surgery, and post-operative care.
Handle ophthalmic emergencies and minor eye procedures.
Coordinate with optometrists, OT staff, and nursing teams for seamless patient care.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records.
Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, infection control, and patient safety standards.

Qualifications
MBBS with MS/DNB in Ophthalmology.




Fellowship in Phaco Surgery/Cataract Surgery preferred.
Valid NMC/State Medical Council Registration.

Experience
2–10+ years of post-qualification experience.
Proven experience in performing Phaco Cataract Surgeries independently.
Experience in high-volume cataract surgery centers will be an added advantage.

Required Skills
Expertise in Phacoemulsification and IOL implantation.
Solid diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
Excellent surgical skills with attention to detail.
Good communication and patient counseling abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the clinical team.
