Dolkhar strives for a near zero-waste, low-plastic environment, ensuring that its physical spaces are a thoughtful expression of community, sustainability, and local artistry.
Guests enjoy stone-walled rooms in mountain hues, exposed “talu ldungma” ceilings, and villas with traditional “rabsal” balconies and private patios.
Role Description The Junior Bartender is a full-time, in office role based at Dolkhar in Ladakh, India. This team member supports the bar operations by preparing and serving beverages, assisting with cocktail mixing, and ensuring consistent presentation and quality. Day-to-day responsibilities include greeting guests, taking drink orders, maintaining a clean and organized bar area, restocking supplies, and following hygiene, safety, and sustainability standards.
The Junior
Bartender works closely with the food and beverage team to provide a welcoming, attentive service experience, handles basic cash and billing procedures, and supports inventory checks. The role also involves learning about local ingredients and Ladakhi-inspired beverages to enhance guest experiences and represent Dolkhar’s commitment to culture and sustainability.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Customer Service and Communication skills to interact professionally and warmly with guests and team members.
Candidates should possess Food & Beverage and Bartending skills, including knowledge of basic drink preparation, bar tools, and service etiquette.
Candidates should possess Cash Handling skills for accurate billing, payment processing, and basic record-keeping at the bar.
Relevant experience in hospitality, bar service, or restaurant environments is beneficial.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and to stand for extended periods.
Basic knowledge of hygiene and safety standards in food and beverage operations; formal training or certification is an advantage.
Interest in Ladakhi culture, sustainable practices, and locally sourced ingredients is highly valued.
Eligibility to work on-site in Ladakh, India, and proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
