Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Inventory Manager to take complete ownership of inventory planning, stock control, reconciliation, warehouse inventory accuracy, and replenishment.
The role will be responsible for ensuring that the company maintains the right level of stock across all products and locations while minimising stock-outs, excess inventory, expiry, damage, and inventory discrepancies.
The ideal candidate should be highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing inventory in a rapid-moving e-commerce environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesInventory Management
- Take complete ownership of inventory across warehouses, fulfilment centres, marketplaces, and other stock locations.
- Maintain accurate records of all inward, outward, transferred, returned, damaged, expired, and missing inventory.
- Ensure system inventory accurately matches physical inventory.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical stock audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain proper SKU-wise, batch-wise, and expiry-wise inventory records.
- Ensure FIFO / FEFO practices are followed where applicable.
Inventory Planning & Replenishment
- Monitor daily stock levels and identify products at risk of going out of stock.
- Prepare weekly and monthly inventory requirement plans.
- Calculate reorder levels, safety stock, and stock cover based on sales velocity and supplier lead times.
- Coordinate with procurement and suppliers for timely replenishment.
- Forecast inventory requirements based on historical sales, upcoming campaigns, seasonality, and growth projections.
- Prevent both overstocking and stock shortages.
- Monitor fast-moving, slow-moving, non-moving,
and ageing inventory.
Warehouse & Stock Control
- Coordinate closely with warehouse and packaging teams for proper inward and outward stock movements.
- Ensure all inventory movements are properly recorded in the system.
- Monitor stock receiving processes and verify quantities against purchase orders and supplier invoices.
- Ensure damaged or rejected inventory is separately identified and recorded.
- Track warehouse shrinkage, shortages, and unexplained inventory losses.
- Establish controls to minimise inventory leakage and operational errors.
Returns & RTO Management
- Monitor inventory received from customer returns and RTO shipments.
- Ensure returned inventory is properly inspected and classified as saleable, damaged, rejected, or expired.
- Reconcile RTO and return inventory against courier and order-management records.
- Ensure saleable returned stock is quickly returned to available inventory.
Marketplace Inventory
- Monitor stock availability across Amazon, Flipkart, quick-commerce platforms, and other marketplaces.
- Coordinate inventory transfers to marketplace fulfilment centres where required.
- Prevent marketplace stock-outs on high-selling products.
- Reconcile marketplace inventory with internal inventory records.
Reporting & Analysis Prepare regular inventory reports covering:
- Current stock levels
- Days of inventory / stock cover
- Stock-out risk
- Reorder requirements
- Fast-moving SKUs
- Slow-moving SKUs
- Ageing inventory
- Expiring inventory
- Damaged inventory
- Inventory discrepancies
- RTO and returns
- Warehouse shrinkage
- Inventory valuation
Pay: ₹11,649.46 - ₹38,785.54 per month
