Description

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Principal Engineer to drive virtualization solutions for our Integration Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) platform. The candidate "8+ years of embedded software development experience with at least 3 years in platform, system software or ECU middleware stack or similar experience of embedded system development other domains as well who wants to contribute & drive topics The role focuses on solving complex challenges associated with virtual ECU enablement, software stack virtualization, simulation integration, and execution of production software in virtualized environments. The successful candidate will possess deep embedded software expertise and a strong track record of delivering real-world products and platform solutions.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth with systematic problem solving, first-principles thinking, and the ability to establish scalable and reusable solutions across multiple vehicle programs.

Responsibilities

Drive virtualization of Classic AUTOSAR, Adaptive AUTOSAR, and legacy ECU software stacks.

Analyze ECU software architectures and identify dependencies impacting virtualization.

Define and implement solutions for L1–L3 virtual ECU enablement.

Solve complex challenges involving hardware abstraction, device drivers, middleware, operating systems, and communication stacks.

Design and validate technical hypotheses through experimentation, prototyping, and systematic investigation.

Debug and resolve system-level issues spanning software, simulation, runtime environments, and virtualization platforms.

Collaborate with suppliers to steer technical solutions and resolve virtualization-related challenges.

Develop scalable and reusable virtualization approaches rather than project-specific workarounds.

Support integration of virtual ECUs with simulation environments, FMUs, and virtual platforms.

Contribute to engineering best practices, technical knowledge sharing,



and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

Robust experience in embedded software development using C/C++.

Proven track record of developing and delivering embedded products in production environments.

Deep understanding of embedded software architecture from application layer to hardware abstraction layer.

Experience with middleware, operating systems, device drivers, BSPs, and low-level software components.

Strong understanding of multicore systems, concurrency, synchronization, and system performance.

Experience with any one of OS streams like Embedded Linux, POSIX-based systems, QNX, OSEK, AUTOSAR OS, or similar operating systems.

Sound knowledge of AUTOSAR Classic and understanding of Adaptive AUTOSAR concepts.

Strong understanding of automotive communication protocols and diagnostics.

Excellent debugging, root-cause analysis, and problem decomposition skills.

Experience working with software virtualization concepts and virtual ECU environments.

Familiarity with hypervisors, runtime virtualization, or software abstraction techniques.

Experience with dSPACE VEOS, CANape, ControlDesk, or equivalent development and debugging tools.

Added Advantages

Experience with FMUs, plant models, and closed-loop simulation environments.

Exposure to virtual HPC environments and service-oriented architectures.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.

Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools and workflows.
