Responsibilities
Looking for industrial engineering immediate joiner for pune and chennai
- Conduct time studies & method improvements
- Optimize production processes through lean methods
- Implement Poka Yoke principles for waste reduction
- Develop effective layouts & productivity strategies
- The Industrial Engineering leader will be responsible for driving productivity improvement, capacity optimization, manpower efficiency, line balancing, manufacturing cost reduction and Lean Manufacturing across the plant. No
- The role will work closely with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, NPD, Supply Chain and Finance to build efficient, scalable and cost-effective manufacturing systems.
- Key Responsibilities
- 1. Industrial Engineering &
- Productivity
- Conduct Time &
- Motion Studies, Work Measurement and Standard Time development.
- Establish and maintain Standard Work, SOP, JES and Standard Operation Sheets.
- Drive manpower productivity and optimize manpower deployment.
- Develop and monitor line balancing, takt time, cycle time and work content.
- Identify and eliminate productivity losses, bottlenecks and non-value-added activities.
- Improve OEE, UPH, labour productivity and overall equipment utilization.
- 1. Capacity Planning &
- Line Balancing
- Prepare capacity studies for existing and future production requirements.
- Optimize machine, manpower and line capacities.
- Conduct multi-model line balancing and bottleneck analysis.
- Develop capacity plans for recent programs and volume increases.
- Support make/buy decisions and manufacturing feasibility studies.
- 1. Lean Manufacturing &
- Continuous Improvement
- Lead Lean initiatives including Kaizen, VSM, 5S, SMED, Poka-Yoke and waste elimination.
- Drive reduction of Muda, Mura and Muri.
- Identify and implement productivity and cost-saving projects.
- Lead VA/VE and cost-reduction initiatives with cross-functional teams.
- Establish continuous improvement targets and track savings.
- 1. New Product Development &
- Launch
- Participate in APQP and new product launch activities from the IE perspective.
- Develop manpower, capacity and equipment requirements for new projects.
- Conduct work-content analysis and line balancing before SOP.
- Support plant layout, process flow and workstation design.
- Ensure production readiness and achievement of planned cycle time and capacity.
- 1. Plant Layout &
- Material Flow
- Design and optimize plant, line and workstation layouts.
- Improve material flow and minimize transportation and handling.
- Conduct spaghetti diagrams and process-flow analysis.
- Optimize WIP, supermarket and line-side inventory locations.
- Support warehouse and logistics layout optimization.
- 1. Cost Reduction
- Identify opportunities for labour, process, material handling and manufacturing cost reduction.
- Prepare business cases and ROI calculations for productivity projects.
- Track realized savings against approved targets.
- Drive automation and low-cost automation wherever commercially viable.
- 1. Automation &
- Industry 4.0
- Identify opportunities for automation, semi-automation and Low-Cost Automation (LCA).
- Support implementation of digital manufacturing solutions, MES and production monitoring.
- Use manufacturing data for productivity and capacity analysis.
- Develop dashboards for IE KPIs and productivity tracking.
- 1. Ergonomics &
- Workplace Optimization
- Conduct ergonomic assessments of workstations.
- Improve operator safety, ease of operation and workplace efficiency.
- Optimize workstation design based on operator movement and work content.
- 1. Performance Management &
- Reporting
- Monitor and improve key IE metrics including:
- Labour productivity
- OEE
- Cycle time
- Takt time
- Line efficiency
- Capacity utilization
- Manpower efficiency
- UPH / output per employee
- Manufacturing cost
- VA/VE savings
- Kaizen savings
- WIP and throughput
- Required Experience
- 8–15 years of experience in Industrial Engineering / Manufacturing Excellence.
- Strong experience in automotive Tier-1 manufacturing is preferred.
- Experience in high-volume, multi-product manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on experience in time study, line balancing, capacity planning and productivity improvement.
- Experience in new product launches and plant expansion projects.
- Strong exposure to Lean Manufacturing and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech in Industrial / Mechanical / Production Engineering.
- MBA/PGDM in Operations or Manufacturing preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma certification will be an advantage.

- Ideal Candidate Profile
- Candidate should come from a Tier-1 automotive / auto-component manufacturing company with strong hands-on exposure to plant-level Industrial Engineering.
- Preferred exposure to companies manufacturing rubber & hose products, metal tubes, brake components, engine components, transmission components, forged/cast components, chassis components, fuel systems, EV components or other automotive assemblies.
- The ideal candidate should be a data-driven problem solver capable of converting manufacturing data into measurable improvements in productivity, capacity, cost and delivery.
