ICU & Cardiac Staff Nurse

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate ICU & Cardiac Staff Nurse to provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill and cardiac patients. The nurse will be responsible for continuous patient monitoring, administration of medications, assisting with emergency procedures, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating with doctors and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill and cardiac patients.

· Monitor vital signs, ECG, oxygen saturation, neurological status, and other clinical parameters.

· Identify and promptly report changes in the patient's condition.

· Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and other treatments as prescribed.

· Monitor and manage patients on ventilators and other critical-care equipment as per hospital protocols.

· Assist doctors during procedures, emergency interventions, intubation, CPR, and resuscitation.

· Provide care to patients with acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, arrhythmias, post-MI conditions, and post-cardiac procedures.

· Perform and interpret basic ECG monitoring and promptly report significant abnormalities.

· Maintain IV lines, central lines, urinary catheters, drains, and other devices according to protocol.

· Maintain strict infection-control and aseptic techniques.

· Monitor intake/output, fluid balance, and other relevant clinical parameters.

· Collect blood and other specimens and ensure timely dispatch to the laboratory.

· Maintain accurate nursing notes, medication records, observation charts, and patient documentation.

· Educate patients and their relatives regarding treatment, medication, precautions, and discharge instructions.

· Ensure proper handover of patient information during shift changes.





· Maintain emergency equipment, medication stocks, and ICU supplies.

· Follow hospital policies, nursing standards, patient-safety practices, and ethical guidelines.

· Participate in audits, training programs, continuing education, and quality-improvement activities.

Qualifications

· B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing / GNM from a recognized institution.

· Valid registration with the appropriate State Nursing Council / Nursing Registration Authority.

· ICU/CCU or cardiac-care experience is preferred.

· BLS certification is preferred; ACLS certification is an advantage.

Experience

· Experienced candidates: 1–3 years or more of ICU/CCU/Cardiac Nursing Experience preferred.

· Ability to recognize and respond to emergencies promptly.

· Positive knowledge of ECG and cardiac monitoring.

· Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in rotating shifts.

· Good documentation and organizational skills.

Working Conditions

· Full-time position.

· Rotational shifts, including night duties.

· Work in a high-acuity ICU/CCU environment.

· Ability to respond quickly to medical emergencies is essential.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
