SAP Basis Consultant – Oracle DBA & Data Guard Administrator

Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled SAP Basis Consultant with specialized expertise in Oracle Database Administration and Data Guard management. This critical role demands a skilled with over six years of experience to ensure the reliability, performance, and availability of large-scale SAP environments running on Oracle. The successful candidate will serve as a key guardian of data integrity, managing complex backup and recovery strategies while overseeing high-availability configurations.

This position is vital for maintaining seamless business operations, minimizing downtime, and ensuring that our infrastructure scales efficiently to meet enterprise demands.

Location: PAN INDIA

Responsibilities

- Design and execute comprehensive backup and recovery strategies, including full, incremental, and archived log management, to guarantee data resilience.

- Lead complex database restoration initiatives, such as Point-in-Time Recovery (PITR) and tablespace recovery, while monitoring and mitigating performance impacts during these operations.

- Architect and maintain Oracle Data Guard environments, managing failover and failback procedures to ensure continuous high availability.

- Administer and optimize large-scale Oracle databases (terabyte scale)



specifically configured for SAP applications.

- Utilize Linux administration skills to manage cloud infrastructure, including AWS instances, ensuring robust system performance and security.

- Develop and maintain automation scripts using shell and Python to streamline administrative tasks and integrate with APIs.

- Collaborate effectively using JIRA for task tracking and testing, while documenting processes and configurations in Confluence.

Requirements

- Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in SAP Basis With Oracle Database Administration.

- Proven expertise in SAP Basis core functions and the specific nuances of SAP on Oracle architectures.

- Deep technical knowledge of RMAN, backup strategies, and disaster recovery scenarios.

- Strong proficiency in Linux system administration and cloud infrastructure management, particularly within AWS environments.

- Practical experience with Data Guard High Availability setups, including failover and failback mechanisms.

- Competency in scripting languages such as Shell and Python for automation and API integration.

- Familiarity with IT service management tools like JIRA and documentation platforms such as Confluence.
