Job Summary
Roswalt Buildcon Private Limited is looking for an experienced Head HR with strong exposure specifically in the Real Estate / Construction / Infrastructure industry. The person will be responsible for leading the complete HR function across corporate office and multiple construction project sites, with a solid focus on manpower planning, recruitment, employee relations, HR operations, compliance, performance management and HR strategy.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience managing site-based workforce as well as corporate employees and should be capable of building and implementing HR systems suitable for a growing construction organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. HR Strategy & Leadership
- Lead and manage the complete HR function for the organization.
- Develop HR policies, processes and systems aligned with business requirements.
- Partner with senior management on manpower, organizational structure and people-related decisions.
- Establish HR practices suitable for rapid growth and multiple construction projects.
2. Recruitment & Manpower Planning
- Drive end-to-end recruitment for corporate and project/site positions.
- Develop manpower plans based on project requirements, timelines and budgets.
- Manage recruitment of senior management, engineers, project teams, technical staff and site workforce.
- Build strong recruitment channels for construction and real estate talent.
- Ensure timely deployment of manpower at project sites.
3. Construction Site HR Management
- Manage HR operations across multiple construction sites.
- Handle site manpower requirements, attendance, discipline, transfers and employee grievances.
- Establish effective coordination between project teams and corporate HR.
- Monitor site-level HR practices and ensure adherence to company policies.
- Manage workforce-related issues including absenteeism, attrition and employee relations.
4. Employee Relations & Performance Management
- Develop effective employee engagement and retention initiatives.
- Handle disciplinary matters, grievances and employee relations.
- Implement performance appraisal and performance management systems.
- Support management in succession planning and talent development.
5. HR Operations & Policies
- Oversee onboarding, employee documentation, confirmation, transfers, promotions and exits.
- Develop and maintain HR policies, SOPs and employee handbook.
- Ensure accurate HR records and MIS.
- Monitor attendance, leave and payroll inputs.
6. Labour Laws & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements.
- Oversee PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, Bonus, Gratuity, Minimum Wages and other applicable compliances.
- Ensure proper contractor/vendor manpower compliance at project sites.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors and statutory authorities wherever required.
7. Payroll & Compensation
- Oversee monthly payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate salary disbursement.
- Review salary structures, increments, incentives and compensation proposals.
- Manage manpower budgets and HR cost analysis.
- Support management in compensation benchmarking.
8. HR MIS & Reporting
- Prepare and present HR dashboards and MIS to management.
- Track headcount, manpower cost, attrition, recruitment status, absenteeism and vacancies.
- Provide regular workforce analytics and recommendations to management.
Candidate Profile
- 12–18 years of HR experience, preferably in a senior HR leadership role.
- Mandatory: Construction / Real Estate / Infrastructure industry experience.
- Strong experience managing project/site HR and corporate HR.
- Should have handled large-scale manpower and multiple project locations.
- Strong knowledge of labour laws and statutory compliance.
- Proven experience in recruitment of construction and technical manpower.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management and employee relations skills.
- Should be hands-on and capable of independently managing the HR function.
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
- MBA/PGDM in HR or equivalent qualification preferred.
