About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled and thoughtful Hardware Engineer who takes pride in designing reliable, practical hardware and software and enjoys working closely with a team in a fast-paced, in-person environment to join us on our mission to create a meaningful impact on the UK Social Care sector.
You’ll play a key role in designing, developing, testing, and improving the systems that support our products and services. Attention to detail, strong engineering fundamentals, and a sense of ownership are essential.
You’ll be involved throughout the hardware development lifecycle - from understanding requirements to prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and supporting production.
What we do
RoundSys is a leader in care software and technology. We are recognised as an innovation leader, and our systems help provide quality care for vulnerable individuals across the UK.
We provide simple-to-use technology for carers and managers to ensure consistent, high-quality care is delivered, while reducing administrative work and removing the need for unnecessary paperwork.
As we continue to expand our technology offering, hardware will play an increasingly important role in connecting people, devices, and care environments.
What you’ll be doing
Designing, developing and supporting hardware and connected systems
Writing code to control, test and integrate hardware
Working closely with our software development team to build reliable, well-designed systems
Troubleshooting problems across hardware, software and infrastructure
Documenting and improving our systems and processes
What we’re looking for
A hardware engineer with solid programming skills
Experience working with embedded systems,
electronics or connected devices
Someone who understands how to build clean, reliable and maintainable systems
Comfortable working across the boundary between hardware and software A practical problem-solver who enjoys understanding how things work
What it takes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good programming ability and willingness to work across different technologies
Attention to detail and a methodical approach
Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with developers
Curiosity, initiative and a desire to build things properly rather than just make them work
Stay ambitious - Constantly push yourself to grow, learn, and raise the bar.
Be a driver of positive team culture, collaborating with a team that are proud and excited to be a part of RoundSys.
The ability to embrace challenges and solve problems in a fast-paced workplace, particularly when working with hardware where things don’t always go according to plan.
Practise precise, proactive communication, leading alignment and momentum across hardware, software, and product teams.
Anticipate problems, take initiative, and make things happen. We value engineers who don’t wait to be told what needs fixing.
Take ownership. From the first schematic to a working product, we expect our engineers to care about the quality of what they build.
We’re looking for candidates who are genuinely interested in what we do and can clearly demonstrate their engineering experience.
