AVP – Finance, Bills Payables & GST

Location: Raipur, Chhattisgarh

Department: Finance, CS & Legal – Bill Passing & GST

Reporting To: VP – Finance & Marketing

Experience: 10 Years

Industry Preference: Steel / Metals / Manufacturing

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced AVP – Finance, Bills Payables & GST to oversee and manage the organization's billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, GST and related financial operations.

The role will be responsible for monitoring daily financial transactions, ensuring timely and accurate bill processing, fund-flow management, GST compliance, payment approvals, reporting and team leadership. The position will also support the VP – Finance & Marketing in key financial decision-making and act as the second-in-command in their absence.

Key Responsibilities1. Bills Payables & Receivables

- Monitor the processing of all incoming and outgoing financial transactions and ensure accurate daily reporting.
- Receive, verify and validate complete documentation for all financial transactions.
- Approve transactions for payments or receipts within the required timelines.
- Ensure all transaction-related paperwork is properly prepared, updated in relevant systems and maintained as per SOPs.
- Oversee the preparation of the Daily Fund Flow Report, covering movement of funds across all corporate accounts.
- Review fund-flow reports, identify discrepancies and communicate the same to relevant stakeholders.
- Assess payment timelines for outbound transactions and plan bill-passing schedules for optimum utilization of company funds.
- Review and approve payment advice attached to bills processed by the Bill Passing Team.

2. GST & Taxation

- Oversee the complete functioning of the GST team, including:
- GST data entry
- Data validation
- Reconciliation
- GST return filing
- GST payments
- GST-related litigation handling




- Ensure accurate GST entries on all relevant internal and external platforms.
- Validate GST-related data and transactions for accuracy and compliance.
- Support the GST team in preparing responses to GST inquiries, rulings and litigation matters.
- Coordinate and support GST-related court attendances and proceedings as required.

3. Finance Operations & Team Management

- Lead and manage the team of Bill Passing, Collections, GST Officers and other finance professionals.
- Ensure smooth and efficient management of the company's financial operations and funds.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of all organizational financial transactions.
- Prepare financial transaction records and reports for presentation in TOC and other relevant management meetings.
- Monitor the overall performance and workflow of the finance operations team.
- Ensure adherence to internal SOPs, timelines and financial processes.

4. Management Support

- Support the VP – Finance & Marketing in key financial decision-making.
- Act as the second-in-command in the absence of the VP – Finance & Marketing.
- Provide financial insights and relevant transaction-level information to management for effective decision-making.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.




- MBA in Finance / Business Administration will be preferred.

Required Experience

- 10 years of experience in Finance & Accounting.
- Strong experience in Billing, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Candidates with experience in the Steel / Metals / Manufacturing industry will be preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership / managerial role.

Functional Skills

- Strong experience in managing and resolving financial disputes with customers, suppliers and other third parties.
- Strong analytical ability with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to analyse financial data, identify trends and take appropriate business decisions.
- Thorough understanding of applicable financial standards, regulations and compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience with accounting and financial systems such as:
- SAP
- Tally
- GST Portals
- Strong understanding of billing, payables, receivables, GST and financial transaction processes.

Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate should be a senior finance professional with strong experience in Accounts Payable, Receivables, Billing and GST, preferably from a steel, metals or manufacturing organization. The candidate should have strong leadership capabilities, sound knowledge of financial compliance and the ability to independently manage multiple finance functions while supporting senior management in strategic decision-making.

Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹300,000.00 per month
