About the Role

We are looking for a passionate, disciplined, and creative Carnatic Music teacher to join our online arts institution full-time. The role includes both vocal/music instruction responsibilities and active involvement in developing educational content, audio-visual study materials, and structured learning frameworks for students across different levels.

The ideal candidate should have strong practical and theoretical knowledge of Carnatic Music, excellent pitch (sruti) and rhythm (tala) control, strong communication skills, and the ability to engage students effectively in an online learning environment.

Work Structure

- 4–5 hours daily: Dedicated online live teaching sessions
- Remaining hours: Curriculum design, audio/study material preparation, and academic support activities

Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching Responsibilities

- Conduct online Carnatic Music classes for children and adults
- Teach students across beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels (from basic Varisas to Kritis, Manodharma, and concert repertoire)
- Maintain vocal discipline, pitch accuracy, rhythmic clarity, and student engagement
- Provide precise vocal/musical corrections, guidance, and constructive feedback
- Guide students in practice routines, performance preparation, and music examinations




- Coordinate with academic and operations teams regarding attendance and student progress

Requirements

- Solid formal training in Carnatic Music with practical teaching experience
- Ability to teach online confidently and professionally with high-quality audio setup
- Good communication skills in English (additional regional languages are a plus)
- Basic technical knowledge for handling Zoom/Google Meet, digital tanpura apps, and online teaching tools
- Passion for teaching and willingness to contribute to study material development beyond classroom sessions
- Responsible, punctual, and committed to long-term growth

Preferred Qualifications

- Master's degree or higher in Carnatic Music Vocal
- Experience teaching international students in an online format
- Experience in lesson recording, notation preparation, or audio content creation
- Familiarity with structured Carnatic syllabus systems
