About Cura

Cura is a travel concierge. It plans, books and looks after your trips, on iOS, Android and WhatsApp.

You tell it where you are going. It builds the trip, books it, and handles it when something breaks at 2am in Bangkok. Every trip ends with a receipt showing exactly how many hours and rupees it saved you, including what Cura earned on the booking.

We are in Bengaluru, pre-seed, and we launch this quarter. The role

You will build the apps and the backend behind them. Both, not one. Schema to screen, one person, one surface. There is no separate mobile team and no separate API team, and there is not going to be one.

We ship weekly, to members paying real money, so nothing you build is a prototype. You will work directly with the founders, and decisions get made in the room, usually the same day.

Roughly two thirds of your time is mobile and one third is backend, though that moves week to week. If either half of that sounds like a chore rather than the job, you will not enjoy this. What you will do

- Build and ship the iOS and Android apps, in the same sprint, not one behind the other
- Own the backend that serves them: schema, APIs, jobs, integrations
- Handle the mobile things that are easy to get wrong: push, deep links, offline state, release management, store review
- Build internal tooling that sets our unit economics. Some of the highest value work here is not member facing
- Make things rapid. A concierge that takes eleven seconds to reply is not a concierge

React

Native and Expo, Node, Postgres, LLM orchestration, WhatsApp Business API, third party supplier APIs. We are not precious about tools and we will not rewrite anything for taste.

What we are looking for

- You have shipped at least one app to the App Store or Play Store, it is live, and you can send us the link. This is the first thing we look for
- You wrote the backend for something you shipped. Not consumed an API someone else built. Designed the schema, wrote the endpoints, ran it in production
- 2 to 5 years building consumer products that real people used
- Genuinely full stack. You are as comfortable in a Postgres query plan as in a React Native layout
- You have dealt with what happens after launch: store review, crash reports, a bad release, a migration you could not roll back
- Comfortable owning a surface end to end without a spec
- Opinions about latency, and about what to leave out
- Experience in travel is a significant advantage. Booking flows, supplier or GDS integrations, payments, cancellations and refunds. If you have worked at an OTA, a TMC or a travel platform, lead with it What we are not looking for
- Web full stack with no shipped app. React on the web and React Native are not the same job, and the gap shows up in the parts that are hard
- Mobile only, with no interest in what happens behind the API
- Someone who wants a well specified ticket
- Someone who wants to work on the model rather than the product. We are not training anything How to apply
