Position Description

Position Title: Designer

Reports To: Content Marketing Lead

Employment Type: Full-time

Position Summary The Designer safeguards the visual expression of UNSW Bengaluru across campaigns, digital properties, print, and event environments. Owns design systems, multi-format production, accessibility standards, and vendor handoffs to deliver consistent, high-quality assets for Indian audiences.

Accountabilities

- Produce campaign visuals (display, social, email, landing pages), brochures, and OOH layouts to UNSW brand standards.

- Maintain a compliant modular design system (components, templates, grids) to accelerate production without compromising quality.

- Prepare print-ready files; manage colour profiles, bleeds, and preflight checks; liaise with printers for QA and proofs.

- Implement accessibility guidelines (contrast, legibility, alt text direction) and multilingual adaptations.

- Manage asset rights/credits; store consent forms; enforce version control and archiving policies.

- Create event signage systems and environment branding; coordinate with Events for site plans and wayfinding.

- Support SEO with visual standards for image metadata and file naming for performance, in accordance with UNSW Sydney content taxonomy requirements.

- Conduct periodic visual audits across campus to identify non-compliant usage and remediate.

Skill &

- Experience

- Bachelor’s in Design/ Visual Communication or equivalent portfolio / level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training, and experience.

- Advanced Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma; working knowledge of motion graphics.

- Experience across print, out-of-home and digital production in India; solid QA quality assurance discipline.

- Strong art direction and creative skills that demonstrate an understanding of branding, customer/ user experience and how best to communicate complex information in a compelling way.

- Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work individually and collaboratively across a matrix organisation including experience with Agile Ways of Working and agile tools (e.g. Wrike, Trello, Jira) and Microsoft Office.

- Ability to apply judgement, creativity and flexibility to ensure outputs are delivered on time and on brief.

- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.

- Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
