Role: Data Platform Solution Architect

We are looking for an experienced Data Platform Solution Architect to join an established enterprise data platform environment and provide the architectural direction required to complete ongoing initiatives while shaping the next stage of platform transformation.

This is a hands-on architecture role. The successful candidate should be capable of rapidly understanding an existing, partially implemented platform, identifying what has already been delivered, determining what needs to evolve, and translating that understanding into a clear and actionable target architecture. Key Responsibilities

Rapidly assess the existing enterprise data platform across its various layers and components.

Define and own the target-state data platform architecture, bridging current implementation with future requirements.

Develop the architectural roadmap for the next phase of data platform transformation.

Translate business and data requirements into architecture decisions, reference designs, and technical standards.

Provide hands-on architectural guidance to senior engineering teams and remain actively engaged throughout delivery.

Identify architectural risks, dependencies, trade-offs,



and appropriate mitigation strategies.

Define integration patterns, data flows, governance standards, and platform design principles.

Establish architecture standards across ingestion, transformation, governance, and consumption layers.

Support migration programmes through target architectures, transition states, parallel-run approaches, and validation strategies.

Collaborate closely with engineering, data governance, business, and technology stakeholders. Key Requirements

12+ years of experience in Data Engineering and/or Data Architecture.

At least 4–5 years of experience in a Solution Architect or Data Platform Architect role.

Proven experience designing enterprise-scale data platform architectures end-to-end, from source ingestion through consumption.

Strong understanding of Medallion / Lakehouse architecture patterns including Raw, Harmonized, Conformed, and Consumption layers.

Strong knowledge of relational, dimensional, and lakehouse-oriented data modelling.

Experience designing governance architectures covering data lineage, data quality, audit/control frameworks, SCD versioning, and CDC.

Ability to architect both batch and real-time data processing at enterprise scale.

Experience designing parallel-run and phased migration strategies. Azure & Databricks Expertise

Robust hands-on knowledge of:

Azure Synapse Analytics – Pipelines, Spark Pool, Dedicated SQL Pool

Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2

Delta Lake / Lakehouse architectures

Azure Analysis Services

Azure Databricks

Delta Live Tables

Unity Catalog

Spark-based data transformation

Workflow orchestration and governance

Power BI and semantic layer design

Migration from legacy data warehouse / Synapse environments to Databricks Lakehouse

Experience with Unity Catalog and Azure Purview for enterprise data governance. Cloud, Engineering & DevOps Skills





Strong Azure cloud architecture knowledge covering security, networking, scalability, and cost optimization.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.

Strong understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.

Awareness of Docker and Kubernetes.

Strong hands-on Python and SQL skills.

Deep understanding of ETL/ELT frameworks, data pipeline design patterns, and performance optimization at scale. Good to Have

Exposure to real-time and streaming architectures using Event Hub, Kafka, or similar technologies.

Familiarity with MLOps and GenAI platform integration patterns.

Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Dynatrace.

Background working in financial services or other regulated industries.
