Position: Convention Center Sales & Event Manager

Experience: 6-15 years in Event Sales, Banquets, Hospitality, Convention Centers, or Event Management Ideal Candidate: A highly energetic sales-focused event professional who can bring business to the convention center, close bookings, build strong client relationships, and personally coordinate the complete event journey from inquiry → site visit → quotation → booking → planning → execution → client feedback. About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and target-driven Convention Center Sales & Event Manager to drive event bookings and manage events from the initial client inquiry through successful completion.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for generating new business, developing client relationships, converting leads into bookings, coordinating with clients and internal teams, and ensuring the smooth execution of weddings, corporate events, conferences, exhibitions, social functions, and other large-scale events. Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development:
- Generate new business and achieve monthly/quarterly event booking targets.
- Identify and develop relationships with corporate clients, event planners, wedding planners, agencies, institutions, and other potential customers.
- Respond to event inquiries, conduct venue tours, understand client requirements, and prepare proposals and quotations.
- Negotiate pricing, packages, terms, and contracts to maximize revenue while maintaining profitability.
- Follow up consistently with leads and convert inquiries into confirmed bookings.
- Maintain a strong sales pipeline and accurate records of leads, prospects, bookings, and revenue.
- Develop repeat business and referral opportunities from existing clients.
- Promote the convention center for weddings, conferences, seminars, exhibitions, product launches, parties, and corporate events.
Event
Planning & Client Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for the client from booking confirmation through event completion.
- Understand the client's event requirements, budget, guest count, schedule, food & beverage requirements, décor, AV, seating, parking, and other arrangements.
- Prepare detailed event plans, function sheets, quotations, and operational requirements.
- Coordinate pre-event meetings and site visits with clients and vendors.
- Ensure all commitments made during the sales process are clearly communicated to the operations team.
Event
Execution & Management:
- Manage the complete event lifecycle from setup to closing.
- Coordinate with operations, catering, housekeeping, security, maintenance, technical/AV, décor, and other departments.
- Supervise event setup, seating arrangements, stage, lighting, sound, food service, signage, branding, and other requirements.
- Be present during events to ensure smooth execution and immediately resolve client or operational issues.
- Monitor timelines, vendor activities, service quality, and client requirements throughout the event.
- Conduct post-event follow-ups and obtain client feedback. Revenue & Reporting:
- Achieve assigned sales and revenue targets.
- Monitor booking values, deposits, outstanding payments, and final settlements.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly sales and booking reports.
- Track conversion rates, event revenue, lost business, and future opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to upsell additional services such as catering, décor, AV, rooms, parking, branding, and other venue services.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree/diploma in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in convention centers, hotels, banquet halls, event venues, hospitality, or event management.
- Candidates with proven experience in event sales and achieving booking/revenue targets will be preferred.
- Experience handling weddings, corporate events, conferences, exhibitions, and large social events is an advantage.
