Supervise and manage day-to-day civil construction activities at railway project sites.

- Execute work as per approved drawings, BOQ, specifications, site instructions and project requirements.
- Supervise earthwork, excavation, filling, embankment, compaction and dressing works.
- Monitor execution of WBM, PCC, RCC, concrete roads, drains, retaining structures and other civil works.
- Coordinate and supervise bridge-related civil works, including foundation, excavation, RCC and related construction activities.
- Ensure proper line, level, alignment, dimensions and slopes as per drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with surveyors for setting out and checking levels.
- Check reinforcement, shuttering, concrete and other works before execution/concreting.
- Ensure proper compaction and quality of earthwork and other construction activities.
- Monitor deployment and productivity of labour, JCB, excavators, loaders, rollers, mixers, tractors and other machinery.
- Prepare daily work plans and allocate activities to supervisors, labour and machinery.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers and project staff for smooth execution.
- Maintain proper records of daily progress, labour, machinery and material consumption.
- Take measurements of completed works and maintain measurement sheets/site records/MB-related documentation.
- Assist in preparation and checking of RA bills, quantity statements and BOQ measurements.
- Calculate quantities of earthwork, aggregates, concrete, reinforcement and other construction materials.
- Monitor material requirements and coordinate with suppliers to ensure uninterrupted work.
- Check quality of materials and workmanship as per project specifications.
- Coordinate with railway/client/consultant representatives during inspections and measurements.
- Attend site inspections and resolve day-to-day technical issues.
- Maintain site photographs, inspection records, test reports and other required documentation.
- Prepare daily and weekly progress reports for management.




- Monitor project progress against the planned schedule and immediately report delays or site constraints.
- Ensure economical utilisation of materials, manpower and machinery.
- Ensure compliance with railway specifications, approved drawings, quality requirements and safety procedures.
- Identify site problems and provide practical solutions in consultation with senior management.
- Take responsibility for timely completion of assigned work.

Candidates with experience in the following areas will be preferred:

- Indian Railways civil construction projects

- Formation and rehabilitation works
- WBM / GSB / PCC / RCC works

- MB and RA bill preparation
- Railway site documentation

- Working with construction machinery and manpower

Required Skills
- Solid practical knowledge of civil construction.
- Ability to independently handle a construction site.
- Good knowledge of drawings, BOQ, specifications and quantity calculations.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Excel will be preferred.
- Good understanding of surveying, levels and measurements.
- Ability to manage labour, machinery and subcontractors.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Strong site coordination and problem-solving ability.
- Willingness to work at railway project sites and travel/relocate as required.
- Should be responsible, disciplined and capable of taking ownership of assigned work.

Qualification Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering

Experience

3-5 years of relevant experience in civil construction.

Candidates having railway project experience and practical site execution knowledge will be given preference.

Important

This is a field-oriented execution role. Candidates who have only theoretical/design experience and do not have practical site-execution experience may not be suitable.

The selected candidate will be expected to take responsibility for day-to-day site execution, manpower, machinery, measurements, quality and progress.
