The Business

Analyst – Technology will play a key role in driving this transformation by connecting business needs with technology solutions.

Role Purpose The Business Analyst – Technology will serve as the bridge between programme teams, support functions, leadership, technology partners, and end users. The role will be responsible for understanding organizational needs, analysing business processes, documenting requirements, improving systems, driving digital transformation initiatives, and ensuring technology investments create measurable value.

The role requires a combination of analytical thinking, stakeholder management, project coordination, process improvement, data analysis, and technology implementation capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

1.

Business

Analysis &

- Requirement Gathering (25%)

Stakeholder Engagement

- Engage with Programme, People, Finance, Fundraising, MEAL, Administration, and Leadership teams to understand business challenges and opportunities.

- Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, focus groups, and requirement-gathering sessions.

- Develop strong relationships with internal users to understand operational realities and pain points.

- Facilitate discussions to prioritise business requirements.

Requirement Documentation

- Prepare Business Requirement Documents (BRDs).

- Create Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS).

- Document user stories, use cases, workflows, and acceptance criteria.

- Develop process maps and workflow diagrams.

- Translate non-technical requirements into actionable specifications for developers and vendors.

Business Process Analysis

- Assess current business processes and identify inefficiencies.

- Conduct gap analysis between current and desired states.

- Recommend process redesign and automation opportunities.

- Standardize workflows across locations and departments.

Technology

Solutions &

- System Implementation (25%)

Digital Transformation Initiatives

- Support the implementation of organisation-wide technology initiatives.

- Identify opportunities to leverage technology for programme delivery and operational efficiency.

- Participate in the selection and evaluation of technology platforms.

Systems Management

Support implementation and optimisation of:

- CRM systems

- Learning Management Systems (LMS)

- HRMS platforms

- Programme Management Systems

- MIS and Reporting Platforms

- Volunteer Management Systems





- Fundraising and Donor Management Systems

- Mobile applications and digital learning platforms

Vendor Coordination

- Coordinate with software vendors and implementation partners.

- Track vendor deliverables and timelines.

- Ensure solutions meet organisational requirements.

- Support contract and performance reviews of technology vendors.

User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

- Develop testing scenarios and test cases.

- Coordinate user testing activities.

- Document defects and enhancement requests.

- Validate solutions before deployment.

- Data Management, Analytics &
- Reporting (20%)

Data Governance

- Support organisational data governance practices.

- Establish data quality standards and validation mechanisms.

- Improve accuracy, consistency, and reliability of organisational data.

Dashboard Development

- Collaborate with teams to develop dashboards and reporting tools.

- Support the creation of executive dashboards for leadership.

- Monitor KPIs across programmes and functions.

Data Analysis

- Analyze operational and programme data to identify trends.

- Generate actionable insights for decision-making.

- Support forecasting and planning exercises.

- Develop periodic performance reports.

Project

Management &

- Coordination (15%)

Project Planning

- Develop project plans and implementation roadmaps.

- Define milestones, deliverables, timelines, and responsibilities.

- Track progress against project plans.

Project Monitoring

- Monitor risks, dependencies, and issues.

- Escalate concerns proactively.

- Maintain project status reports and dashboards.

Cross-functional Coordination

- Coordinate between departments, technology teams, vendors, and leadership.

- Facilitate project review meetings.

- Ensure timely completion of assigned deliverables.

Change

Management &

- User Adoption (10%)

Change Enablement

- Support organizational change initiatives related to technology adoption.

- Assess user readiness and adoption challenges.

- Develop strategies to improve user engagement.

Training &

- Capacity Building

- Conduct training sessions for staff.

- Develop user manuals, SOPs, FAQs, and knowledge resources.

- Provide post-implementation support.

Communication

- Communicate system updates and enhancements.

- Gather user feedback and recommend improvements.

- Promote a culture of digital adoption across the organization.

- Innovation &
- Continuous Improvement (5%)

- Identify emerging technologies relevant to the social sector.





- Recommend innovative solutions to improve programme effectiveness.

- Support pilot projects and proof-of-concept initiatives.

- Benchmark technology practices with leading organizations.

- Contribute to the organization's technology and innovation strategy.

Qualifications

Education

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, Technology Management, or related field.

- Master's degree or relevant certifications will be an advantage.

Preferred Certifications

- CBAP

- ECBA

- PMP

- Agile Business Analysis

- Scrum Fundamentals

- Power BI Certification

- Data Analytics Certifications

Experience

Essential

- 4–8 years of experience in Business Analysis, Technology Consulting, MIS, Product Implementation, Digital Transformation, or Technology Project Management.

- Experience gathering and documenting business requirements.

- Experience implementing enterprise systems and digital solutions.

- Strong understanding of business processes and process improvement methodologies.

Desirable

- Experience in NGOs, education, skilling, youth development, or social impact organizations.

- Experience working with distributed teams across multiple locations.

- Experience managing technology vendors and implementation partners.
