Preferably one of the following from a recognized university.
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering (Structural)
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering (HVAC)
Overall engineering work experience of more than 15 years including minimum 5 years in leading position of managing engineering in industrial facilities – leading Architecture team and / or MEP team
Responsible for the management of Overall Building Engineering related works of Substations, Control buildings, Administration buildings, Workshops Warehouses, etc. for international projects as described below:
- Planning of the overall Building EPC execution strategy and its implementation as a leader of the building engineering team, in consultation with JGC HQ (Yokohama) Lead Engineer.
- Engineering management work to lead and integrate the overall building engineering among each building discipline engineers (Architectural, Structural, MEP, THSE).
- Engineering coordination work among other plant discipline engineers (e.g Civil, Piping, Mechanical, E&I;) including coordination, alignment with client & JV partners
- Supervision of detailed engineering and BIM works executed by 3rd party engineering / BIM modelling consultants including engineering quality and schedule control. This may include visits to BIM consultant’s office, likely in an Indian city.
- Review and approval of basic and detailed engineering deliverables produced in-house and/or submitted by 3rd party engineering sub-contractor, including inputs to other disciplines working within JGC (technical review by engineering team with relevant discipline engineers across operation centres)
- Leading approval discussions & engineering approval meetings with client including client comment resolution
- Monitoring of work progress,
controlling engineering status and schedule for the Building scope of project (including 3rd party engineering sub-contractor and other Operating Centres supporting project scope) and reporting to overall project management
- Control cost (manhour and BQ) for Building engineering scope of project including other Operating centres and 3rd party engineering sub-contractor supporting project scope
- Procurement support work related to vendor selection, purchasing, and technical advising for building procurement items such as structural steel, HVAC equipment/panels, Power panels and Fire alarm panels in consultation with respective discipline engineers & JGC HQ (Yokohama) Building Engineer
- Construction support work related to subcontractor selection, contracting, field engineering and trouble shooting. This may include visits to site.
- Raising Change orders to client, material requisitions to procurement and supporting procurement schedule, including review and approval of change orders raised by 3rd party engineering sub-contractor
- Working as Field Engineer for short tenures as required
- Working at other Operating Centres of the company in above roles for a tenure as required
Requirements
• Understanding of Plant Building engineering for Oil & Gas Industry or any Industrial Sector
- Knowledge of international code and standards and other common laws applicable to Building design
- Willing to adapt to the organisation’s method of work delivery
- Knowledge of standard international styles of business communication and experience in the preparation of business and technical documentation.
- Navisworks operation skills (preferably Autodesk Revit too).
- MS office & Excel operation skills.
- Mentoring and development of other Building engineers within the department.
- Flexibility of working in project team as originator or supervisor as required – especially in early stages of project
