We're looking for a Backend Software Engineer with robust expertise in Python to build and scale the backend systems that power MethodTech's investment platform.

This is a hands-on role where you'll work directly with the founder on core infrastructure, backend architecture, APIs, data systems, and the technology behind our investment and analytics products.

You'll have significant ownership over technical decisions and will play an key role in building systems that are reliable, scalable, and capable of handling complex financial data and workflows.

What You'll Do

- Design, build, and maintain robust backend systems using Python .

- Develop scalable backend architectures for MethodTech's investment platform.
- Build and maintain APIs and services that power our frontend and product workflows.
- Work with complex financial and structured datasets to build reliable data-driven systems.

- Translate complex business and financial requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Design systems with a focus on performance, reliability, maintainability, and scalability.

- Collaborate with frontend engineers, product, and design teams to deliver end-to-end product features.
- Debug complex technical issues and identify efficient, elegant solutions.




- Participate in code reviews and maintain high engineering standards.

- Contribute to improving development processes, architecture, and engineering practices.

What We're Looking For

- 2+ years of professional backend software development experience.

- Expert-level proficiency in Python .

- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals and software engineering principles .

- Proven experience designing and developing robust, scalable backend architectures .

- Strong understanding of APIs, databases, data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Experience working with REST APIs and backend frameworks .

- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with the ability to break complex problems into elegant solutions.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and production-ready code.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Solid communication skills and comfort working directly with founders and leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field .

Nice to Have

- Experience building data-intensive or analytics-heavy applications.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and deployment environments.
- Experience working in fintech, financial technology, quantitative finance, or investment platforms .

- Understanding of financial markets, portfolio management, or systematic investing.
