Role Description The Automation Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based at the PharmNXT Ekuse facility in Pune.

The Automation

Engineer will design, implement, and maintain automation systems for Single-Use manufacturing, downstream processing equipment, and containment solutions, ensuring reliable and productive operation. Daily responsibilities include configuring and programming process control systems, integrating sensors and instrumentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize automated workflows. The role involves diagnosing and resolving equipment and system issues,



performing preventive maintenance on automation and electrical systems, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality, and productivity.

The Automation

Engineer will also document system configurations, create standard operating procedures, and provide training and technical support to operations and maintenance teams.

Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Automation and control skills to design, program, and integrate automated systems and equipment.

Candidates should possess solid Process Control skills to configure, monitor, and optimize control systems used in bioprocess and pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Candidates should possess Electrical Engineering skills to troubleshoot, maintain, and improve electrical panels, drives, sensors, and control circuits.

Candidates should possess Troubleshooting skills to diagnose root causes of system failures, implement corrective actions, and minimize downtime.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field.

Experience with PLCs, SCADA/DCS systems, HMI configuration, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP) is highly beneficial.

Experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, or process manufacturing environments is an advantage.

Ability to read and interpret P&IDs;, electrical drawings, and automation schematics, with strong analytical and documentation skills.

Comfort working on-site in for implementation and testing.
