AutoCAD Draughtsman Furniture & Wardrobe Drawings

Job Summary / About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented AutoCAD Draughtsman to join our team and work on technical drawings for furniture and interior products.

The candidate should be proficient in AutoCAD 2D, have a strong understanding of dimensions in millimetres (mm), and be able to read, interpret and prepare detailed technical drawings.

The role will primarily involve preparing furniture drawings, wardrobe drawings, elevations, sections, plans and detailed construction drawings based on design references and requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare accurate 2D AutoCAD drawings for furniture and interior products.
- Read and understand architectural, interior and furniture drawings.
- Prepare detailed drawings using all dimensions in mm.
- Develop wardrobe drawings, including:

- Front elevations

- Side elevations

- Internal layouts

- Sections

- Detailed dimensions

- Shutter and partition details
- Drawers, shelves and storage configurations
- Hardware and accessory details wherever required
- Prepare furniture elevations, plans and sections.
- Convert design concepts, sketches and references into accurate technical drawings.
- Prepare detailed drawings suitable for manufacturing and execution.
- Understand furniture construction, proportions,



materials and basic joinery.
- Incorporate revisions and modifications accurately as per instructions.
- Coordinate with the design and production teams to ensure drawings are practical and technically accurate.
- Maintain proper drawing standards, layers, dimensions, annotations and file organization.
- Ensure drawings are accurate, clear and easy for the production team to interpret.
- Check drawings for dimensional accuracy before releasing them for production.
- Prepare drawings within given timelines and manage multiple projects when required.

Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D.
- Excellent understanding of dimensions and measurements in mm.
- Ability to read and interpret technical and architectural drawings.
- Ability to prepare plans, elevations and sections independently.
- Valuable understanding of furniture detailing and construction.
- Ability to create detailed wardrobe drawings and elevations/sections.
- Knowledge of furniture materials, hardware and basic joinery will be an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and dimensional accuracy.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to understand design instructions and convert them into precise technical drawings.
