Position Overview The Communications Associate will support Athena Infonomics’ external and internal communications by developing clear, well-structured, and audience-appropriate content. The role involves writing, editing, and coordinating content across digital platforms and knowledge products, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, clarity, and consistency.

Key Responsibilities Draft and edit content for websites, newsletters, social media, presentations, and reports.

Support day-to-day management of Athena’s digital communication channels, including social media content management, scheduling and basic performance tracking.





Translate technical research, evaluation findings, and project outputs into explicit, accessible communication materials.

Assist in developing project profiles, case studies, short briefs, and internal updates.

Work closely with design colleagues to ensure content and visuals align effectively.

Assist with maintaining content calendars and coordinating reviews with internal teams.

Develop content narratives and messaging for Athena’s research, projects, and organisational priorities, adapting the story for different audiences and platforms.

Contribute to thought leadership and storytelling by turning ideas, research, and project work into clear articles, LinkedIn posts, case studies, and other communication pieces.

Required Qualifications And Skills Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Social Sciences, or a related field.

1–3 years of relevant work experience in communications, content development, or knowledge management.

Strong command over Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel extensively for content drafting, formatting, and coordination. Working knowledge of Canva for layout and visual enhancement.

An understanding of generally accepted social media performance indicators and methods for increasing engagement among specific audiences and geographies.

Broad knowledge of fundamental principles, terminology, and methodology of marketing writing, technical editing, and document organization.





Ability to understand technical material and communicate it to non-technical audiences.

Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and ability to meet deadlines.

Self-learning, able to learn new tools quickly and work in a fast-evolving environment.

Comfortable working with feedback and making iterative improvements.
