Apigee Senior Engineer

Custom Policy Development – Build reusable Apigee policies (JavaScript, Python, Java callouts) for authentication, authorization, payload transformation, input validation, and error handling.

Shared Flow Design – Architect and implement shared flows to standardize cross-cutting concerns (security, logging, rate limiting, CORS, fault handling) across API proxies.

API Proxy Development – Design and deploy API proxies with proper policy attachment, conditional flows, route rules, and target endpoint configuration.

Security Implementation – Enforce OAuth 2.0, API key verification, JWT validation, HMAC, threat protection (JSON/XML), and IP whitelisting via policies.

Traffic Management – Configure spike arrest, quota enforcement, concurrent rate limiting, and caching policies.

Mediation &

- Transformation – Implement AssignMessage, ExtractVariables, ServiceCallout, JSONtoXML/XMLtoJSON, XSLT,



RaiseFault, and custom JavaScript mediation logic.

KVM &

- Environment Configuration – Manage Key Value Maps, target servers, keystores/truststores, and environment-scoped configuration for Hybrid runtime.

CI/CD &

- GitOps – Automate proxy and shared flow deployment using apigeecli, Apigee Maven plugin, or Apigee Management APIs integrated with GitHub Actions, Cloud Build, Jenkins, or ArgoCD.

Testing - Write and maintain automated tests using apickli (BDD), Postman/Newman collections, apigeelint for static analysis, and load tests via JMeter or Locust.

Debugging &

- Troubleshooting – Write unit tests (apigeelint, apickli, Postman/Newman), use Apigee Trace/Debug tool.

Use Apigee

Debug/Trace sessions, Kubernetes pod logs, and Hybrid diagnostic tools to root-cause policy execution failures, latency issues, and deployment errors.

Monitoring &

- Analytics – Configure custom analytics and basic understanding of Dynatrace, Splunk etc.

Documentation – Maintain technical documentation for shared flows, policy catalogs, and API standards.
