About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytically strong Analyst – Debt Syndication to join our Debt Syndication / Debt Capital Markets (DCM) team.

The role involves credit assessment, financial analysis, transaction evaluation, debt structuring support and execution of corporate debt fundraising transactions.

The candidate will work closely with senior investment banking professionals to understand borrower businesses, analyse financial performance and cash flows, assess creditworthiness, evaluate funding requirements and prepare transaction materials for banks, NBFCs, AIFs, private credit funds and institutional investors.

The role provides exposure to corporate debt transactions across a wide range of financing requirements, including term loans, working capital, structured debt, refinancing, project finance, acquisition finance, NCDs/bonds and private credit.

Key Responsibilities

Credit Analysis & Appraisal

- Analyse the financial performance and credit profile of prospective corporate borrowers.

- Review and interpret
- Balance Sheet

- Profit & Loss Statement

- Audited Financial Statements

- Provisional Financials

- Financial Projections

- Assess the company's business model, industry position, operating performance and financial strength.

- Identify key credit risks, business risks and financial risks.

- Prepare detailed credit assessment and borrower analysis reports.

Financial Analysis

- Analyse key financial and credit parameters including:
- Debt/Equity

- Net Debt/EBITDA

- Interest Coverage Ratio

- DSCR

- FCCR

- Cash Flow/Debt

- Current Ratio

- Working Capital Cycle

- Profitability and cash flow metrics

- Analyse historical performance and projected financials.





- Evaluate debt servicing capacity and repayment ability.

- Conduct sensitivity and scenario analysis on key assumptions.

- Identify trends, deviations and potential red flags in financial performance.

Debt Structuring Support

- Understand the borrower's funding requirement and existing capital structure.

- Assist in evaluating suitable debt financing options.

- Support senior team members in structuring appropriate debt solutions based on:
- Funding requirement

- Cash flows

- Existing debt

- Security/collateral

- Repayment capacity

- Lender appetite

- Assist in lender mapping and identifying suitable banks, NBFCs, AIFs and private credit funds.

Transaction Execution

- Support debt transactions across:
- Term Loans

- Working Capital

- Structured Debt

- NCDs / Bonds

- Refinancing

- Acquisition Finance

- Project Finance

- Private Credit / Structured Finance

- Prepare and maintain transaction-related financial models and analysis.

- Prepare transaction teasers, company profiles, financial summaries and Information Memorandums.

- Assist in preparing lender presentations and credit proposals.

- Coordinate with internal teams for data collection and transaction analysis.

- Support discussions with lenders/investors by providing required financial and credit information.

- Track lender queries and coordinate responses with the client/internal team.

- Assist in monitoring transactions from initial assessment → mandate → structuring → lender engagement → sanction → documentation → disbursement.

Industry & Company Research

- Conduct industry and sector research for prospective transactions.

- Analyse industry trends, competitive positioning and key business risks.

- Research comparable companies and relevant financial benchmarks.

- Prepare industry and company analysis for inclusion in transaction documents.

Documentation & MIS

- Maintain accurate transaction trackers, financial data and credit analysis files.

- Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial information received from clients.

- Prepare regular transaction updates and MIS for senior management.

- Maintain databases of borrower financials, lender requirements and transaction information.

Experience: 1–5 years in:

Qualification:

- MBA / PGDM – Finance preferred

- CA / CA Inter

- CFA

- M.Com / B.Com / BBA – Finance

- Equivalent qualification in Finance / Accounting

Must-Have Skills

- Strong financial statement analysis skills

- Positive understanding of credit appraisal and corporate finance

- Strong knowledge of financial ratios and credit metrics

- Understanding of CMA data and financial projections

- Good understanding of debt products and financing structures

- Strong MS Excel skills

- Ability to analyse cash flows and debt servicing capacity

- Strong analytical and numerical ability

- Excellent attention to detail

- Good report writing and presentation skills

- Ability to work with large volumes of financial information

- Strong communication and coordination skills

- Ability to work under tight deadlines

Preferred Skills

- Financial modelling experience

- Exposure to debt syndication / loan syndication

- Experience in preparing credit appraisal notes or credit proposals

- Understanding of banking credit processes

- Knowledge of lender requirements and credit evaluation

- Exposure to transaction teasers, Information Memorandums and lender presentations

- Knowledge of PowerPoint and financial presentation preparation
