Practice Area: Railway Claims Tribunal (RCT), Civil, and Constitutional Litigation

​About the Practice

​We are an active legal practice based in Varanasi, primarily representing clients before the Railway Claims Tribunal (RCT), alongside civil and constitutional matters. Our work involves meticulous research, drafting of original applications and written statements, witness cross-examination analysis, DRM report scrutiny, and handling complex litigation against public authorities.

​We are looking for a sharp, driven, and detail-oriented Law Student (BA LLB / BCom LLB / LLB) to join our chambers as a Legal Intern for a hands-on learning experience in active trial and tribunal litigation.

​Key Responsibilities

​As a Legal Intern, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

​Legal Research: Conducting thorough research on statutory provisions, landmark judgments, and precedents relating to Railway Claims, accident compensation, limitation acts, and civil procedure.

​Drafting & Documentation: Assisting in drafting claims, written statements, rejoinders, miscellaneous applications, and legal notices.

​Case File Analysis: Reviewing and analyzing DRM (Divisional Railway Manager) reports, police records, medical documents, and accident investigation files.

​Tribunal & Court Preparation:



Assisting with brief preparation, compiling case laws, and maintaining case dairy tracking.

​Court / Tribunal Attendance: Accompanying the advocate to court hearings and tribunal proceedings to observe cross-examinations, arguments, and court craft.

​Candidate Requirements

​Education: Currently enrolled in a 3-year or 5-year LL.B. degree program from a recognized law university/college.

​Skills:

​Solid drafting and articulation skills in English.

​Familiarity with legal research tools (SCC Online, Manupatra, or open-source legal databases).

​Good command over Civil Procedure Code (CPC), Evidence Act, and constitutional principles.

​Location: Must be based in or able to commute easily within Varanasi.

​Work Ethic: High level of professional discipline, eagerness to learn litigation from the ground up, and ability to meet strict deadlines.

​What You Will Learn

​Practical exposure to tribunal and court proceedings, particularly within the Railway Claims Tribunal framework.

​Direct mentorship on how to draft robust claims and counter-affidavits.

​Insight into case strategy, evidence evaluation, and client handling.
