About The Role We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Remote Junior Accountant to join our team on a full-time basis. This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop their accounting expertise within a dynamic and supportive environment.

As a Junior Accountant at MNS & Associates, you will be responsible for supporting our clients with various accounting and financial tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. You will collaborate closely with senior team members and clients, assisting with bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, tax filings, and audit support. The position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple industries and develop a comprehensive understanding of Canadian accounting practices and tax laws.

The role requires a proactive approach, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote setting.

Qualifications

- Willingness to work significant overtime during tax season,



including evenings and weekends as needed
- Strong understanding of Canadian tax laws and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Jazzit, Profile, and Caseware, along with advanced skills in Excel and Microsoft Office, including SharePoint
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple client accounts effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Adaptability to changing priorities and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

- Provide professional support to clients by promptly responding to inquiries related to accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and taxes
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, tailored to client needs and industry standards
- Assist clients with banking compliance, financial reporting requirements, and finalization of banking and mortgage agreements
- Analyze financial data, perform ratio and cash flow analysis, and help clients interpret financial reports clearly and transparently
- Deliver bookkeeping services, including recording sales, expenses, accounts receivable/payable, payroll transactions, and maintaining inventory records
- Support payroll compliance activities such as WSIB, government remittances,



T4/T4A filings, and CRA reconciliations; prepare T5 slips as required
- Prepare and file HST/GST and other provincial tax returns, along with Personal (T1) and Corporate (T2) tax returns, ensuring adherence to CRA regulations
- Maintain organized electronic files and documentation for easy retrieval and audit purposes
- Build and maintain strong client relationships by providing responsive and high-quality customer service
- Identify client needs proactively and communicate opportunities or issues to relevant internal teams
- Collaborate with the administrative team to support clients during CRA inquiries
- Prepare working papers, schedules, and supporting documentation for audits and reviews, ensuring accuracy and timely completion
- Work with the Assurance team to support audits and reviews, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations
