About the role
Waveline Sports is the Master Franchise for the Michael Phelps Swimming Program in India, running 33+ centres across Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Indore and Kolkata, with Bangalore and Hyderabad launching.
Everything the business runs on — leads, registrations, attendance, coaching quality, billing, renewals — sits inside a single internal CRM. That system is growing fast, and it currently has no owner.
This role is that owner.
You will be the person every Sales Rep, Head Coach and Area Manager comes to when the system doesn't do what they expect. You will work out whether it's a bug, a data problem or someone who was never shown how. You will get it fixed, check the fix actually works, and make sure the next person doesn't hit the same thing.
Our platform is AI-built. You will spend much of your time writing precise specifications for an AI development tool, and then verifying what comes back. The AI writes code well. What it needs is someone who can tell it exactly what to build, spot when its answer is wrong, and refuse work that hasn't been tested.
What you'll do
Own the day-to-day
- Be the single point of contact for all CRM issues across every centre
- Reproduce reported problems before escalating them — most of the job is working out what actually happened
- Distinguish bugs from training gaps, and handle each appropriately
- Keep a running log of what changed, when, and why
Direct the AI build
- Turn a reported problem into a clear, specific brief the AI platform can build from
- Define what "done" looks like before the work starts
- Review what the AI produces critically. It will sometimes be confidently wrong, and catching that is the job
- Push back when a proposed solution doesn't hold up
Hold the release gate
- Test every change on a live screen before it reaches a centre. Not "the code looks right" — actually open the page
- Verify the numbers reconcile across every screen they appear on
- Refuse to release work that hasn't been checked
Protect data quality
- Run regular checks on the things that matter: student records, attendance, billing entries, level assignments
- Catch discrepancies before someone in a centre does
- Investigate when two screens disagree, and find out which one is wrong
Support the people using it
- Train new Sales Reps, Head Coaches and Area Managers on the system
- Write short, plain guides for common tasks
- Sit with centre staff periodically to see how they actually use it, not how they say they do
Own current rollouts
- Take new modules from specification through testing to network-wide launch
- Brief Area Managers before changes land, not after
- Follow up on adoption — a feature nobody uses is a feature that failed
What we're looking for
Essential
- 2–4 years in a product operations, business analyst, CRM administration or similar role
- Demonstrable attention to detail — you notice when a number doesn't add up, and you check rather than assume
- Comfortable with spreadsheets and data: filtering, cross-referencing, spotting an outlier
- Clear written English. Much of this job is writing precise specifications and short guides
- Confident saying "that isn't right" to a developer, a manager or a director
- Willing to test properly rather than take someone's word that it works
Strongly preferred
- Hands-on experience with AI development tools — Base44, Lovable, Cursor, Replit,
Bolt or similar. You have built or maintained something real with one, not just tried it once
- Comfortable writing clear prompts and specifications for an AI tool, and reviewing what it produces rather than accepting it
- Everyday use of AI assistants — ChatGPT, Claude or similar — for drafting, analysis and problem-solving
Useful but not required
- Experience supporting non-technical staff on internal software
- Basic understanding of databases or SQL
- Hindi and Marathi, for working with centre staff
Not required
- A computer science degree
- Programming ability. You will not be writing code — you will be directing an AI platform that does, and checking its work carefully
- Prior experience in sports or swimming
We would rather hire someone careful and curious than someone with the right certificate.
Why this role is worth taking
You will own a system that 33 centres depend on, from day one. Nobody will be doing this above you.
The business is expanding into new cities and new modules are being built continuously — registrations, payments, HR, area management. You will be involved in shaping how each one works, not just supporting it after the fact.
You will also be working at the front edge of how software actually gets built now. If you want to become genuinely good at directing AI tools to produce reliable production systems, there are few better places to learn it than a business where 33 centres depend on you getting it right.
And if you are the kind of person who finds it satisfying to work out why two screens show different numbers, this job is full of that.
