About the Role
In this role you will be assisting the accounting and finance team. Your primary responsibilities include assisting with accounting and bookkeeping, receivable and cash management. The day-to-day duties include:
- Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivables’ data.
- Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Researches customer discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance. of the Collections Manager and other staff.
- Assists in generating monthly billing statements based on the general ledger.
- Copies, files, and retrieves materials for accounts receivable as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
About You
- 3-4 years of experience in a similar role
- B-com/M-com or equivalent tertiary qualification.
- High level of attention to detail, analytical ability, well-developed financial modelling, and proven technical skills, as well as the ability to problem-solve issues to resolution.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills (English).
- The ability to liaise, consult and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Sound working knowledge of PC-based accounting systems, financial decisions support tools, financial report writers, and Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
- A results-orientated mind set.
- Actively participating in continuous quality improvement and applying quality improvement principles to all duties performed.
