Position Overview

The Senior Cost accountant will be based in Bangalore, India reporting to the Manager Costing. The major functions of this position include:

- Assist Director/ Sr Manager of Wholesale Cost Accounting in managing functions within the Divisional Cost Department.
- Works within a team while demonstrating respect for RL corporate values.
- Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Primary responsibilities:
- Standard costing & daily costing runs
- Month End Close




- Costing for NA and collaboration across regions
- Monthly Cost Variance Analysis
- Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Senior Cost accountant will be based in Bangalore, India reporting to the Manager Costing. The major functions of this position include:

- Assist Director/ Sr Manager of Wholesale Cost Accounting in managing functions within the Divisional Cost Department.
- Works within a team while demonstrating respect for RL corporate values.
- Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Primary responsibilities:
- Standard costing & daily costing runs
- Month End Close
- Costing for NA and collaboration across regions
- Monthly Cost Variance Analysis
- Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

Accountabilities / Tasks:

Setting standard costs and reviewing secondary costs and resetting the standard costs
- Collaborates effectively with the Production team providing efficient flow of information required to cost inventory items
- Provides meaningful analysis of Purchase Price Variance’s when requested
- Completes assigned month-end financial closing tasks and provides requested data for periodic forecasts
- Cost Variance analysis includes development of a monthly forecastannual budget,



analysis of results to the forecastannual budget and development of analytical reports to effectively communicate results.
- Provide a due diligence review of proposed standard costs.
- Responsible for timely and supported responses to internal and external audit requests and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance controls
- Completes ad hoc analysis as assigned
- Special projects and analysis at manager’s discretion.

Experience, Skills, and Knowledge

Required Skills / Years Experience / Education:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the best combination of skills.

-
Solid technical knowledge of costing, inventory valuation, accounting principles, standard costing processes, and controls.
- Functional within the suite of Microsoft software.
- Experience within an ERP system (preferably SAP).
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, ICWA, or CMA with 3–7 years of experience; CMA/CA qualification preferred.
- Works comfortably with large data sets utilizing query, reporting and summarization features within Excel / BI tools
- Partners with team members to complete thought-provoking assignments in accordance with RL corporate values
- Offers guidance and occasional oversight for staff level team members
- Contributes to root cause analysis, including self-critical observations, to provide constructive feedback and opportunities for improvement
- Build effective relationships and engage in healthy conflict to resolve challenge areas across levels and stakeholders in the organization to influence change
- Communicates concisely with integrity to summarize detailed processes or challenges
