Job Summary

We are looking for responsible, caring and hardworking candidates to join our team as Caretakers – Pets & Fish at our Forest Village & Aviary facility at Athirappilly, Thrissur, Kerala.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the daily care, feeding, cleanliness, observation and basic maintenance of pet animals and fish, while ensuring proper hygiene, safety and a clean environment for both the animals and visitors.

- Provide daily care and attention to pets, fish and other assigned animals.
- Feed animals and fish according to the prescribed feeding schedule and instructions.
- Ensure availability of clean drinking water and appropriate feed.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of animal enclosures, cages, tanks and surrounding areas.
- Clean and maintain fish tanks/aquariums as per prescribed procedures.
- Monitor the general health, behaviour, eating habits and activity of animals and fish.
- Immediately report any signs of illness, injury, unusual behaviour or abnormal condition to the supervisor or concerned expert.
- Assist with routine handling and care of animals as instructed.
- Ensure animals are kept safely within their designated areas and enclosures.
- Prevent unauthorized access or unsafe interaction between visitors and animals.
- Assist visitors with basic information about the pets, fish and designated viewing areas when required.
- Ensure visitors follow prescribed safety and animal-interaction guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness of food preparation, feeding and storage areas.
- Ensure feed, medicines, cleaning materials and other supplies are properly stored.




- Assist in maintaining daily records of feeding, cleaning, animal observations and other assigned activities.
- Inform the supervisor about shortage of feed, cleaning materials, equipment or other requirements.
- Assist the concerned team during routine veterinary visits or animal-health activities, as directed.
- Follow all animal-care, hygiene, safety and operational procedures prescribed by the company.
- Maintain proper personal hygiene and professional appearance.
- Support the Operations team during weekends, holidays and peak tourist periods.
- Perform other animal-care and facility-related duties assigned by the management.

Qualification Required

- 10th / Plus Two in any discipline.
- Candidates with ITI / Diploma / Degree in Zoology, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Fisheries, Aquaculture or related fields will be preferred.
- Candidates with a genuine interest in animal care and willingness to learn may also apply.

Experience

- Freshers are welcome to apply.
- Candidates with 0–3 years of experience in Pet Care, Animal Care, Fish/Aquarium Maintenance, Zoos, Aviaries, Resorts, Animal Farms, Fisheries or similar environments may apply.
- Previous experience in animal or fish care will be an advantage but is not mandatory for freshers.
