Business Analyst – Information Technology

Role & Responsibilities

- Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand business objectives, processes, and requirements.
- Gather, analyze, validate, and document functional and non-functional requirements.
- Conduct business process analysis, gap analysis, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Recommend technology-driven solutions aligned with business requirements.
- Prepare and maintain Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS), Use Cases, User Stories, and Process Flows.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Developers, QA teams, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Facilitate requirement-gathering workshops, stakeholder meetings, and discussions.
- Translate business requirements into clear and actionable functional specifications for technical teams.
- Develop process flows, wireframes, and functional documentation where required.
- Maintain requirement traceability and support project planning and delivery.
- Review proposed technical solutions to ensure alignment with business and functional requirements.
- Develop functional test scenarios and support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Validate developed solutions against documented requirements and support defect resolution.
- Support software deployment, implementation, and post-go-live activities.
- Prepare user manuals and conduct user training and knowledge-transfer sessions.
- Gather user feedback and recommend enhancements and improvements.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and promote best practices.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and business analysis practices.





Preferred Candidate Profile

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology:
- B.E.
- B.Tech.
- M.E.
- M.Tech.
- 3–10 years of experience as a Business Analyst in the IT industry.
- Experience working on software development, digital transformation, and ERP/CRM projects.
- Strong experience in requirement gathering, analysis, documentation, and stakeholder management.
- Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Hands-on experience with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or Hybrid methodologies.
- Strong understanding of business process modelling and functional documentation.
- Experience working with tools such as:
- Microsoft Visio
- Jira
- Azure DevOps
- Confluence
- Trello
- Similar project management/documentation tools
- Basic understanding of databases, APIs, system integrations, and software architecture concepts.
- Knowledge of reporting and data visualization tools such as Power BI will be an added advantage.
- Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with clients, business users, technical teams, and project stakeholders.
