About the Role

HLBS Tech Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a skilled and experienced BGA Repair Engineer to join our SMT / PCB Repair & Rework team. The candidate will be responsible for BGA rework, reballing, component replacement, PCB troubleshooting, defect analysis, and repair of motherboards/PCBs while maintaining high standards of quality and ESD safety.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform BGA removal, replacement, reballing, and rework on motherboards and PCBs.
- Operate and handle BGA Rework Station, hot-air rework station, preheater, soldering equipment, and related tools.
- Diagnose and repair BGA-related defects, including:
- Open/short connections
- Solder bridging
- Cold solder joints
- Missing or damaged solder balls
- Component misalignment
- Soldering/reflow defects
- Perform accurate BGA reballing using stencils, solder balls, flux, and appropriate reflow parameters.
- Conduct microscopic inspection of BGA components and solder joints after rework.
- Troubleshoot PCB/motherboard failures and identify the root cause of defects.
- Follow approved BGA temperature profiles and reflow parameters.
- Perform PCB modifications and component-level repair as per engineering instructions.
- Use multimeter and other electronic testing equipment for troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with SMT Production, Quality, Testing, and R&D; teams for failure analysis and corrective action.




- Maintain proper records of PCB/BGA repairs, failures, replacements, and rework activities.
- Identify recurring BGA/PCB defects and support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.
- Ensure repaired boards pass required functional and quality tests.
- Maintain BGA rework equipment and ensure proper handling and cleanliness of tools.
- Strictly follow ESD, safety, quality, and production procedures.

Required Skills

- Strong hands-on experience in BGA repair and rework.
- Good knowledge of BGA reballing and component replacement.
- Experience with BGA Rework Station and hot-air rework equipment.
- Knowledge of SMT components and PCB assembly processes.
- Knowledge of soldering, desoldering, flux application, and reflow processes.
- Ability to read PCB layouts, circuit diagrams, BOMs, and component references.
- Knowledge of different BGA packages and electronic components.
- Good microscope handling and inspection skills.
- Basic knowledge of electronic circuits and PCB troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of ESD-safe handling and ESD workstation practices.
- Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to work with precision and attention to detail.

Qualification

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, ECE,



or a related field.
- ITI / Diploma candidates with strong practical experience in BGA repair/rework may also be considered.

- Laptop / Desktop / Server Manufacturing
- EMS / ESDM Industry
