Position Title: Assistant Store Manager

Department: Retail Operations

Reporting To: Store Manager

Location: Bangalore

Employment Type: Full-time

Role Summary

The Store Manager is responsible for meeting store sales targets by leading, training, and motivating the sales team, while ensuring an exceptional customer experience for every guest. The role includes full responsibility for store operations, staff management, inventory control, visual merchandising, and adherence to company policies and statutory requirements.​

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Performance

- Meet and exceed store sales targets by training, motivating, and mentoring the sales team.​
- Participate in sales discussions and daily calls to propose and implement new ideas to improve store sales.​
- Analyse daily, weekly, and monthly sales data, identify trends, and guide the team on actions to improve performance.​
- Work with Store Manager to design and execute store-based strategies and breakthrough initiatives.​

Customer Experience & Service

- Ensure high levels of customer connect and satisfaction through personalised service and active floor presence.​
- Work along with the team on the sales floor to ensure each customer has a great shopping experience.​
- Handle and resolve customer complaints and queries professionally, with explicit judgement on when to escalate to Store Manager.​
- Build awareness among staff and customers about ongoing promotions, discounts, and key collections.​

People Management & Leadership

- Lead, coach, and develop the store team, ensuring alignment with company values and performance expectations.​
- Maintain staff grooming, discipline,



and presentation standards in line with brand guidelines.​
- Track individual and team performance, provide regular feedback, and support underperforming staff with action plans.​
- Conduct performance appraisals and set clear individual targets for the store team.​
- Keep the team engaged during non-rush hours through activities like inventory management, display improvement, and customer calling.​

Store Operations & Compliance

- Oversee complete store administration and ensure compliance with company SOPs, policies, and state-wise legal requirements.​
- Ensure that standards for quality, customer service, hygiene, and health and safety are consistently met.​
- Maintain outstanding store setup and visual merchandising as per VM guidelines.​
- Ensure proper functioning and usage of POS systems, billing, and related operational processes.​

Inventory, Stock & Merchandising

- Ensure daily stock counting is completed, discrepancies reported, and corrective actions taken.​
- Own monthly stock takes, reporting damages, shrinkage, and variances in a timely manner.​
- Coordinate with store merchandisers to maintain optimum inventory levels and correct size/colour mix.​
- Stay in constant touch with the Merchandising team,



sharing customer feedback, fast/slow movers, and local preferences.​

Market Awareness & Cross-learning

- Maintain awareness of market trends, local competition, and customer buying behaviour in the catchment.​
- Connect with other Store Managers to learn from their success stories and adapt relevant practices.​
- Be open to cross-learning and visiting other stores to understand success factors and best practices.​

Discipline, Time Management & Flexibility

- Demonstrate high self-discipline, punctuality, and professional behaviour, and enforce the same with the team.​
- Manage time effectively, especially during peak hours and events, and remain flexible for extended hours or travel as required.​

Job Skills & Requirements

- Minimum qualification: Graduation from a recognised institution.​
- Strong MS Excel skills for sales tracking, reporting, and basic analysis.​
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with customers, teams, and management.​
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, guide, and manage a diverse store team.​
- Strong customer management abilities and a customer service-oriented mindset.​
- Solid understanding of basic retail business processes, including sales, margins, stock, and shrinkage.​
- Good product knowledge and interest in fashion/ethnic wear.​
- Hands-on knowledge of POS operations and store systems.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
