Job Purpose
The Sourcing Officer – Ratings will be responsible for sourcing, screening, documentation verification, and deployment planning for all categories of ratings. The role ensures timely availability of qualified and compliant seafarers, supports vessel manning requirements, and maintains an active talent pipeline to meet operational demands.
Qualifications & Training
Essential:
- Graduate degree in HR / Business Administration / Maritime Studies
Desirable:
- MBA in Human Resource Management
Experience
Essential:
- 5 - 7 years in marine recruitment / sourcing for ratings
Desirable:
- Up to 10 years in maritime industry / crewing / fleet personnel
Key Responsibilities
1. Sourcing & Crew Relief Planning
- Source suitable ratings through databases, references, maritime institutes, agencies, and qualified networks.
- Ensure timely sourcing of relievers for ratings due for sign-off.
- Maintain an active pool of qualified ratings for urgent and planned vessel requirements.
- Coordinate with the Crewing Team for crew change planning and deployment schedules.
- Monitor crew availability and ensure timely submission of candidates for approval.
2. Documentation Verification & Compliance
- Verify validity of all statutory and company-required certificates before deployment.
- Ensure documents remain valid throughout the contract period.
- Cross-check sea service records, CDC details, passport validity, and certification requirements.
- Ensure all documents are uploaded and maintained as per the Company Document & Certificate Matrix.
- Maintain accurate candidate records in crew management systems.
3. Training & Certification Compliance
- Ensure ratings possess mandatory certifications as per STCW requirements.
- Verify vessel-specific training and familiarization requirements.
- Coordinate with candidates for renewal of expiring certificates when required.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and client requirements.
4. Communication & Coordination
- Maintain regular communication with seafarers regarding availability, documentation, joining schedules, and deployment status.
- Provide timely updates to Masters, Superintendents, and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate with travel, training, and documentation teams for smooth onboarding.
- Respond promptly to vessel manpower requests and operational requirements.
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of maritime ranks and rating categories.
- Knowledge of STCW certification requirements.
- Familiarity with crew management systems and maritime databases.
- Working knowledge of MLC 2006 requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Compensation
INR 8 - 10LPA (flexible based on experience)
