Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sound Engineer specializing in Mixing & Mastering, with Fresher–4 years of skilled studio experience. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in post-production audio for dubbed content, particularly short series and web series, along with a keen ear for dialogue clarity, tonal balance, and final delivery standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mix and master dubbed dialogue tracks for short series/web series episodes.
- Balance dialogue, background score, and sound effects (SFX) for a cohesive final mix.
- Clean up and process dubbed voice tracks — noise reduction, EQ, de-essing, de-plosive treatment.
- Ensure lip-sync accuracy and audio-visual alignment doesn't get disrupted during mixing.
- Apply compression, EQ, and other processing to achieve broadcast/OTT-ready dialogue tone.
- Perform final mastering to meet platform-specific loudness standards (e.g., LUFS/dBFS for OTT/streaming delivery).
- Maintain consistency in tonal quality and levels across episodes within a series.
- Collaborate with dubbing/recording engineers, dialogue editors, and directors to finalize mixes.
- Organize and export final mix files with proper naming/version conventions for delivery.
- Troubleshoot audio issues (hums, clicks, sync drift, artifacts) before final export.
- Ensure timely delivery of mixed/mastered episodes as per production deadlines.
Required Skills & Audio Fundamentals:
- Strong understanding of mixing principles — level balancing, panning, EQ, compression, and reverb.
- Solid grasp of mastering fundamentals — loudness normalization, limiting, and platform delivery specs (OTT/broadcast).
- Hands-on experience with at least one DAW (Pro Tools, Nuendo, Cubase, Logic, Ableton, etc.).
- Working knowledge of plugins for noise reduction, de-essing, and dialogue cleanup (e.g., iZotope RX or similar).
- Understanding of sample rate, bit depth, and file formats/delivery specs for dubbing and OTT platforms.
- Ability to identify and correct sync issues, clipping, sibilance, plosives, and background noise in dubbed tracks.
- Familiarity with dialogue editing workflows and working alongside dubbing/recording sessions.
- Good understanding of signal flow, gain staging, and monitoring setups.
- Ability to work efficiently under tight episodic delivery timelines while maintaining quality.
Qualification & Experience:
- Fresher–4 years of experience as a Mixing Engineer, Mastering Engineer, or Sound Engineer in a dubbing/post-production studio (short series/web series experience preferred).
- Diploma/Degree/Certification in Audio Engineering or Sound Technology preferred.
