The Steward / Senior Steward is responsible for providing good service to guests and supporting the restaurant team in daily operations. The role requires good communication, cleanliness, teamwork, and a guest-friendly attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests and assist with seating.
- Set up tables with plates, cutlery, glasses, and other service items.
- Serve food and beverages as per restaurant standards.
- Clear and reset tables quickly and properly.
- Keep the restaurant, tables, and service areas clean and organized.
- Assist the service team during busy hours.
- Attend to guest requests in a polite and helpful manner.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and service team for smooth operations.
- Check service items and inform the supervisor about any shortages.
- Follow restaurant hygiene, safety, and service standards.
- Maintain proper grooming and personal hygiene.
- Support opening and closing activities of the restaurant.
- Report guest complaints or service issues to the supervisor.
- Work as a team to provide a good dining experience to guests.
Additional Responsibilities – Senior Steward
- Guide and support junior stewards during daily operations.
- Help the supervisor manage table setup and service activities.
- Ensure the team follows proper service and hygiene standards.
- Support recent team members in learning restaurant procedures.
- Take responsibility for smooth service in the assigned area.
