Job Profile: Position: Civil Finishing Engineer

Experience: 10–15 Years
Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering

Job Purpose

To supervise and control all civil finishing activities at the project site, ensuring that work is completed as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, project schedule, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and manage day-to-day civil finishing activities at the project site.
- Execute finishing works such as internal and external plaster, gypsum work, putty, painting, tiling, flooring, marble/granite, waterproofing, doors, windows, false ceiling and other finishing works.
- Ensure all work is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, subcontractors and other site engineers.
- Check the quality of workmanship and ensure compliance with project quality standards.
- Monitor the work progress and ensure activities are completed as per the project schedule and target dates.
- Prepare daily progress reports and maintain records of site activities.
- Check measurements of completed work and coordinate with the Billing Engineer for contractor bills.
- Plan and coordinate manpower, materials, tools and equipment required for finishing activities.
- Inspect materials received at site and ensure that approved materials are used.
- Identify and resolve site-related technical issues and finishing defects.
- Coordinate with MEP, structural and other departments to avoid clashes and delays.
- Conduct regular inspections and prepare snag/punch lists.




- Ensure rectification of defects and completion of snagging work before handover.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure proper utilization of manpower and materials.
- Ensure minimum wastage of materials and maintain proper material control.
- Follow all company safety procedures, quality standards and site rules.
- Maintain proper documentation, checklists, inspection records and work completion records.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager for project planning, execution and completion.
- Support the final project handover and client/consultant inspection.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of civil finishing works and construction practices.
- Good knowledge of drawings, specifications and BOQ.
- Ability to read and understand architectural and civil drawings.
- Good knowledge of finishing materials and their applications.
- Strong site supervision and manpower management skills.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve site issues.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.
- Ability to manage multiple finishing activities simultaneously.
- Good understanding of quality and safety requirements.
