Job Title: Process Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a Process Engineer with experience in industrial process design, process calculations, piping systems, and plant engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing process designs from concept through detailed engineering, including process calculations, equipment sizing, P&ID; development, and technical documentation for industrial plants.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop process designs for industrial plants from concept through detailed engineering.
- Prepare process calculations, including:
- Mass and energy balances
- Flow calculations
- Pressure drop calculations
- Hydraulic calculations
- Utility demand calculations
- Develop and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs;).
- Size and specify process equipment, including pumps, tanks, heat exchangers, filters, separators, pressure vessels, and process piping.
- Select and specify industrial valves, including gate, globe, ball, butterfly, check, pressure relief, and control valves.
- Prepare process datasheets, equipment specifications, line lists, valve schedules, and process design reports.
- Coordinate process requirements with piping, mechanical, structural, civil, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
- Review plant layouts to ensure safe, maintainable, and efficient process operation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, codes, and industry best practices.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies, and technical risk assessments where required.




- Identify process improvements and provide practical engineering solutions.
- Work independently while maintaining effective communication with the engineering team.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience in industrial process engineering and plant design.
- Robust understanding of process calculations and fluid flow principles.
- Experience preparing and reviewing PFDs and P&IDs.;
- Knowledge of pumps, valves, piping systems, pressure vessels, tanks, and other process equipment.
- Familiarity with process design standards and engineering documentation.
- Experience with engineering calculation software and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to prepare technical reports and engineering documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred / Additional Skills

- Experience with process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, or CHEMCAD.
- Familiarity with ASME B31.3, ASME Section VIII, API, ISO, and relevant Australian/New Zealand standards.
- Experience participating in HAZOP, SIL, or process safety studies.
- Knowledge of pressure vessel and heat exchanger design principles.
- Experience in water treatment, chemical processing, food processing, mining, or oil & gas industries.
