Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Android Native Developer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality native Android applications.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Kotlin and/or Java, Android SDK, modern Android development practices, REST APIs, databases, third-party integrations, and application performance optimization. The candidate will work closely with UI/UX designers, backend developers, QA engineers, and product teams to build scalable and user-friendly mobile applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin and/or Java.
- Build responsive, scalable, and high-performance mobile applications.
- Develop clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Work with Android SDK, Android Studio, Jetpack, and modern Android development frameworks.
- Implement application features based on business and technical requirements.
- Integrate RESTful APIs, third-party SDKs, payment gateways, push notifications, maps, analytics, and other services.
- Work with backend developers to integrate APIs and troubleshoot integration issues.
- Implement modern Android UI using Jetpack Compose and/or XML layouts.
- Follow Android architecture patterns such as MVVM, MVP, or Clean Architecture.
- Work with local storage and databases such as Room, SQLite, or similar technologies.
- Implement secure authentication, authorization, data handling, and API communication.
- Optimize application performance, memory usage, battery consumption, and network usage.
- Identify and resolve application crashes, bugs, ANRs, and performance issues.
- Write unit and UI tests and participate in debugging and quality improvement activities.
- Ensure applications are compatible across different Android versions and device sizes.




- Collaborate with QA teams to identify, reproduce, and resolve defects.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Use Git/GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket for source-code management and collaboration.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Contribute to technical discussions and provide solutions to complex development challenges.
- Maintain and enhance existing Android applications while developing new features.
- Publish and maintain applications through the Google Play Store when required.
- Stay updated with the latest Android technologies, development practices, and industry trends.

Required Skills

- 5+ years of qualified experience in Android application development.
- Strong programming skills in Kotlin and/or Java.
- Strong knowledge of Android SDK and Android Studio.
- Hands-on experience with Jetpack components.
- Experience with Jetpack Compose and/or XML-based UI development.
- Strong understanding of Android application architecture such as MVVM/Clean Architecture.
- Experience integrating and consuming REST APIs and JSON.
- Good knowledge of Retrofit, OkHttp, or similar networking libraries.
- Experience with Room/SQLite or other mobile databases.
- Strong understanding of Android lifecycle, activities, fragments, services, intents, and background processing.
- Experience with Firebase services such as Firebase Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics, Analytics, or Authentication.
- Experience with Git-based version control systems.
- Good understanding of debugging, profiling, performance optimization, and crash analysis.




- Experience working with third-party libraries and SDK integrations.
- Strong understanding of mobile application security and best practices.
- Experience writing unit and UI tests.
- Good understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Good to Have

- Experience with Jetpack Compose.
- Experience with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.
- Knowledge of Dependency Injection frameworks such as Hilt/Dagger.
- Experience with Google Play Console and application release management.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for Android applications.
- Knowledge of GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Bitrise, or similar CI/CD tools.
- Experience integrating payment gateways, maps, social login, or other third-party services.
- Experience working with Bluetooth, location services, camera, notifications, or other device-level capabilities.
- Exposure to automated UI testing using Espresso, UI Automator, or similar frameworks.
- Experience working on applications with large user bases or high traffic.
- Knowledge of mobile application security and OWASP Mobile Security practices.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant professional Android development experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a development team.
- Strong ownership, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering high-quality software.
