Summary of Role:

The Community Health Officer will lead the field implementation of the Pink Smile Project with a focus on reducing anaemia, addressing malnutrition, and supporting Anganwadi refurbishment.



The role involves delivering primary healthcare services, promoting maternal and child health, conducting screenings, and creating awareness on nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention. The officer will also coordinate with government departments such as ICDS and the Health Department and ensure smooth execution of all project activities at the community level.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide primary healthcare services including maternal and child health counselling, family planning support, hygiene and sanitation promotion, and assistance in immunization activities.
- Conduct screening activities such as blood tests and hemoglobin checks to identify anaemia and other common health issues.
- Offer counselling on dietary changes, supplementation, and follow-up care based on screening results.
- Organize and lead health education sessions on anaemia, nutrition, women’s health, child health, and hygiene practices.
- Implement activities under the Women Empowerment component as per the project work plan.
- Strengthen coordination and liaison with ICDS, the Health Department, community health workers, local CBOs, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Support the refurbishment of Anganwadis as part of the Pink Smile Project.
- Maintain timely and accurate reporting in prescribed formats and ensure proper documentation of field activities.
- Carry out any other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor for effective project implementation.
- Support to strengthen linkages with concerned Govt. Dept. /community health workers/ local CBOs / other stakeholders.
- Ensure timely reporting as per required formats.

Qualification and Experience:

- Master’s degree in (Social Work/Sociology/ Psychology) from a recognized institution.
- 2-5 years of experience in community health or similar healthcare settings is preferred.
- Experience in maternal and child health is an advantage.
- Prior experience in community health programmes or maternal and child health initiatives is desirable
- Experience in government liaison, especially with ICDS and the Health Department, will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of Technology and good reporting Skills (Basic Computer Skills, for creating reports, maintaining field data and formats positive communication skills in English language for the community, and basic English for the documentation will be given preference.
- Field-level project implementation experience and the ability to work closely with community stakeholders will support effective performance in this role.
