JOB DESCRIPTION – SENIOR MERCHANDISER

Position: Senior Merchandiser

JOB PURPOSE

To independently manage the complete merchandising cycle for international garment orders, ensuring timely development, accurate execution, high quality, and on-time shipment in line with buyer requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Handle end-to-end merchandising activities from buyer enquiry/order confirmation to final shipment.
- Coordinate with international buyers, buying houses and internal teams for smooth order execution.
- Develop and follow up on samples, lab dips, trims, fabrics, accessories, fit approvals and PP samples.
- Prepare and maintain T&A; (Time & Action) plans, order status reports and critical-path follow-up.
- Coordinate closely with Design, Sampling, Fabric, Production, PPC, Quality, Printing, Embroidery, Finishing and Export teams.
- Monitor production progress and proactively identify delays, quality issues and critical bottlenecks.
- Ensure production is executed strictly according to buyer specifications, approved samples, tech packs and quality standards.
- Handle costing, price negotiation, consumption, fabric/trims requirements and order profitability.
- Maintain accurate buyer/order records and ensure timely submission of all required approvals and documents.
- Liaise with buyers for comments, approvals, amendments and shipment-related matters.
- Ensure compliance with buyer-specific quality, social, ethical and sustainability requirements.




- Coordinate with the Quality team to ensure adherence to AQL and international buyer quality standards.
- Follow up with Production and PPC to achieve OTIF (On-Time In-Full) delivery.
- Manage multiple styles/orders simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

- 5–8 years of relevant experience in garment manufacturing/export merchandising.
- Strong experience in handling high-end international brands and premium fashion buyers.
- Sound knowledge of international buyer requirements, quality standards and merchandising processes.
- Strong understanding of woven garments, fabrics, trims, construction, measurements, costing and garment production.
- Excellent knowledge of T&A;, sampling, approvals, production follow-up and shipment processes.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to independently handle buyers.
- Good command of MS Excel, MS Office and ERP/MIS systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple orders with strict deadlines.
- Robust analytical, follow-up and problem-solving abilities.
- Exposure to high-end European/US/UK brands will be strongly preferred.

A proactive and commercially aware merchandiser who understands premium/high-end international fashion brands, has strong buyer-handling skills, and can independently drive orders from development through shipment while maintaining the highest standards of quality, compliance and delivery.
