About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, responsible, and hands-on Senior Accountant to independently manage and supervise accounting, taxation, compliance, payroll, reconciliation, and financial reporting activities for a manufacturing business with an annual turnover of approximately ₹50 crore, along with multiple smaller manufacturing companies, partnership firms, and individual income-tax files.
The candidate will supervise two Junior Accountants and act as a key coordination point between management, Chartered Accountants, auditors, consultants, banks, vendors, customers, and employees. The ideal candidate must have strong practical knowledge of Tally, GST, TDS, payroll, MS Excel, ERP systems, and statutory compliance, with a solid ownership mindset.
Key Responsibilities1. Accounting & Finalisation
- Manage the complete accounting cycle from voucher entry to ledger scrutiny, trial balance, P&L;, balance sheet schedules, and finalisation.
- Handle purchase, sales, expenses, receipts, payments, bank, debtors, creditors, fixed assets, loans, advances, provisions, accruals, depreciation, and inter-company transactions.
- Maintain accurate books, supporting documents, and reconciliation of major accounts.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing and statutory audits.
2. GST, TDS & Income Tax
- Prepare and review GST workings, returns, and payments.
- Reconcile books with GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-2B, purchase registers, and GST portal data.
- Identify GST discrepancies, missing invoices, incorrect GSTINs, ITC differences, and tax-rate issues.
- Handle TDS calculations, deductions, payments, returns, certificates, and reconciliation.
- Coordinate with CAs and tax consultants for income-tax returns, notices, and compliance requirements.
3. Payroll & Statutory Compliance
- Supervise payroll accounting, salary calculations, deductions, advances, reimbursements, and employee recoveries.
- Coordinate statutory payroll compliances such as PF, ESIC, Professional Tax,
and TDS on salary, wherever applicable.
- Reconcile payroll records with accounting books while maintaining confidentiality.
4. Tally, ERP & Excel
- Demonstrate strong hands-on knowledge of Tally, including voucher entries, GST configuration, inventory integration, bank reconciliation, outstanding reports, data backup, rectification, and report extraction.
- Coordinate between Tally, ERP, billing, inventory, payroll, and other software.
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies between systems.
- Have excellent Excel skills including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIF/SUMIFS, Pivot Tables, IF formulas, filtering, reconciliation, data cleaning, and MIS preparation. Power Query knowledge is an advantage.
5. Reconciliation, MIS & Banking
- Regularly perform bank, debtor, creditor, GST, TDS, stock, advances, loan, and inter-company reconciliations.
- Prepare management reports such as receivable/payable ageing, cash and bank position, GST/TDS payable, sales and purchase summaries, expenses, and other MIS.
- Coordinate with banks for statements, loan documentation, stock statements, CMA data, and other financial requirements.
6. Audit & Professional Coordination
- Coordinate with Chartered Accountants, statutory/internal auditors, GST consultants, tax consultants, payroll consultants, banks, and software support teams.
- Prepare accurate audit schedules, supporting documents, reconciliations, and information within deadlines.
- Ensure information provided to consultants and management is complete, accurate, and properly verified.
7. Team Supervision & Work Management
- Supervise and guide two Junior Accountants.
- Allocate work, review accounting entries, monitor pending activities, and ensure timely completion.
- Maintain compliance calendars, To-Do lists, and follow-up records.
- Proactively identify discrepancies, pending tasks,
and compliance risks and report them to management.
8. Data Security & Internal Controls
- Maintain proper financial records, documentation, backups, and filing systems.
- Ensure confidentiality of financial and employee information.
- Identify duplicate entries, missing documents, accounting weaknesses, and control issues.
- Support management in improving accounting processes and internal controls.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential:
- B.Com/M.Com or equivalent qualification.
- 7–12 years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
- Solid practical knowledge of accounting, Tally, GST, TDS, payroll, and Excel.
- Manufacturing accounting experience preferred.
- Experience handling multiple entities is highly desirable.
- Good knowledge of inventory and stock accounting.
- Strong communication, coordination, analytical, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet statutory and internal deadlines.
Preferred:
- CA Inter / CMA Inter or equivalent qualification.
- Experience with ₹25 crore+ turnover organisations.
- ERP/billing/inventory software experience.
- Advanced Excel/Power Query knowledge.
- Experience coordinating with auditors, CAs, banks, and consultants.

The person should be capable of independently managing day-to-day accounting operations, supervising the accounts team, ensuring timely compliance, identifying problems proactively, and providing accurate financial information to management.
