Public Policy Professional
Location: Pune
Experience: 2–5 years

About the Role
The Public Policy Professional will be responsible for developing and reviewing policies, conducting policy research, preparing policy documents, and delivering sessions and workshops on public policy-related topics. The role will involve understanding emerging policy issues, translating research into practical recommendations, and engaging with diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and analyse government policies, regulations, schemes, and emerging public policy issues.
- Develop, draft, and review policy documents, frameworks, guidelines, and recommendations.
- Prepare policy briefs, background papers, presentations, reports, and research notes.
- Track relevant government notifications, legislative developments, programmes, and policy changes.
- Conduct sessions, workshops, and presentations on public policy and related subjects.
- Develop session content and training material based on the audience and requirements.
- Simplify complex policy matters and communicate them effectively to different audiences.
- Undertake research using government reports, official data, research papers, and credible secondary sources.
- Identify gaps in existing policies and suggest practical recommendations.
- Support stakeholder consultations, discussions, and meetings related to policy matters.
- Coordinate with subject experts, government representatives, institutions, and other stakeholders as required.
- Maintain an organised repository of policy research, reference material, government notifications, and relevant publications.
- Support the organisation in developing policy perspectives, position papers, and advocacy-related content.
- Stay updated on national and state-level policy developments and emerging socio-economic issues.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Fluency in English, Hindi, and Marathi
- Strong understanding of public policy and governance.
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Robust drafting and documentation skills.
- Ability to develop structured policy documents and presentations.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to conduct engaging sessions and workshops.
- Strong understanding of government systems, policies, and programmes.
- Ability to interpret and simplify complex information.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with data and reports.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently as well as with multidisciplinary teams.
Educational Qualification
- Master’s degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Political Science, Development Studies, Economics, Law, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Candidates with relevant professional experience and strong policy research capabilities may also be considered.
Preferred Experience
Experience in any of the following will be an advantage:
- Policy research and analysis
- Government and public affairs
- Policy drafting and advocacy
- Conducting policy-related training or workshops
- Research institutions, think tanks, consulting organisations, or development sector organisations
- Government schemes, programmes, and governance-related projects
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
