About the Role
We're hiring a Compliance Associate to help ensure the company operates within U.S. legal and regulatory requirements. This is a great opportunity for a recent law graduate from a strong program to start their career with real ownership — you'll work closely with leadership, learn the business deeply, and build practical expertise across employment law, contracts, corporate compliance, and regulatory matters.
What You'll Do
Regulatory Compliance
- Track applicable U.S. federal and state laws relevant to the business (employment law, data privacy, industry-specific regulations, licensing requirements)
- Help maintain a compliance calendar for filings, renewals, and regulatory deadlines
- Research new or changing laws and summarize implications for leadership in plain language
Contracts
- Review and redline vendor agreements, NDAs, customer contracts, and partnership agreements
- Maintain a contract template library and track key terms/renewal dates
- Flag unusual or high-risk terms for senior review
Corporate & Employment Compliance
- Support HR on employment law compliance (offer letters, employee handbook, state-specific requirements, wage/hour basics)
- Assist with corporate housekeeping — entity filings, board resolutions, cap table documentation (as applicable)
- Help maintain records for audits, licenses, and registrations
General Legal Support
- Respond to day-to-day legal questions from internal teams
- Assist outside counsel with document collection and coordination on specialized matters
- Help build internal policies (privacy policy, terms of service, code of conduct, etc.)
What We're Looking For
- Graduate from a good law school
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
- Comfortable reading dense legal/regulatory text and explaining it simply to non-lawyers
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable in a fast-paced, small-team workplace where you'll wear multiple hats
- Prior internship, clerkship, or law review/journal experience is a plus but not required
Nice to Have
- Coursework or internship exposure to corporate law, employment law, or regulatory compliance
- Interest in eventually specializing in a particular compliance domain as the company grows
