Role Summary

Speedways Electric is seeking an experienced Paint Section Lead to manage and oversee end-to-end paint shop operations at our Jalandhar manufacturing plant. In this role, you will be responsible for leading surface preparation, pre-treatment (PT/ED or liquid coating), powder coating, spray painting, and surface finishing for our diverse range of electric vehicles—including golf carts, electric utility vehicles, sightseeing buses, and custom-built EV bodies.

The ideal candidate will ensure superior surface finish quality, optimize paint consumption, control rework/rejection rates, and maintain safety and environmental compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Production Management

- Paint Shop Execution: Lead daily operations across pretreatment, primer, base coat, transparent coat, and powder coating processes for metal frame bodies, tubular chassis, fiberglass (FRP), and plastic panels.
- Production Targets: Plan and execute daily paint shop schedules to meet production volume targets without compromising paint finish quality or curing standards.
- Process Standardization: Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for paint mixing ratio, viscosity, spray pressure, flash-off timing, booth temperature, and oven curing cycles.





Quality Assurance & Process Control

- Finish & Aesthetics: Maintain aesthetic standards (gloss, adhesion, color match, DFT/film thickness, corrosion resistance, and orange peel control) expected for luxury golf carts and utility EVs.
- Defect Reduction: Continuously analyze defects (runs, sags, pinholes, dust contamination, orange peel) and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) to maintain low rejection and rework rates.
- Testing & Inspection: Conduct periodic adhesion, impact, and chemical resistance tests on finished components.

Cost, Inventory & Resource Optimization

- Material Management: Oversee paint, chemical, solvent, and powder stock levels; track consumption ratios (paint coverage per vehicle body) to eliminate wastage.
- Cost Control: Drive yield improvement, reduce overspray, and minimize chemical/water consumption during surface pretreatment.

Equipment & Maintenance Oversight

- Preventive Maintenance: Ensure regular cleaning and maintenance of spray guns, pressure pumps, paint booths, air compressors, exhaust ventilation filters, and curing ovens.
- Equipment Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, or electrical issues within the paint booth and pretreatment line to minimize line downtime.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
