Job Summary

The Senior Android Framework / AOSP Developer will be responsible for designing, customising, debugging and optimising Android platform features and applications for OEM/client environments. The role requires strong hands-on capability across Android Framework and AOSP platform development, system services, SystemUI, ActivityManagerService, WindowManagerService, Launcher customisation, Android TV/mobile app delivery, performance analysis and end-to-end defect resolution. The position also requires close collaboration with product, platform, QA and client stakeholders to deliver secure Android OS and application features.

Key Responsibilities
Develop, customise and enhance Android Framework and AOSP platform components for OEM/client-specific requirements.
Implement and maintain features across SystemUI, WindowManagerService, ActivityManagerService, PackageManager, Launcher/Launcher3 and gesture/navigation framework areas.
Analyse and resolve Android framework issues including ANRs, tombstones, boot failures, system service defects, performance bottlenecks and device-level integration issues.
Support Android OS customisation involving SELinux, init.rc, vendor partition interactions, Android NDK, AIDL, HAL, Binder IPC and system services.
Contribute to Android TV and mobile application development using Java, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, MVVM and Clean Architecture patterns when platform-app integration is required.
Use AOSP build systems, Soong/Make, Android Studio, ADB, dumpsys, logcat, Perfetto, Systrace and Android Profiler for build, debugging and performance analysis.
Conduct code reviews, support builds and releases, maintain quality standards and collaborate through Git, GitLab/GitHub, JIRA, Confluence and Jenkins.




Work with cross-functional and client/OEM teams for defect triage, technical clarification, root-cause analysis and solution validation.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on framework development, defect fixes, proof-of-concept work and delivery execution.
Contribute to regression validation, CTS/VTS awareness, Play Console release support where applicable and release-readiness documentation.
