JOB DESCRIPTION – GENERAL PHYSICIAN

Qualification : MD/DNB in General Medicine – Mandatory.
Reporting To: Medical Superintendent / Clinical Head

Job Summary

The General Physician will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to patients through clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and follow-up. The role requires strong expertise in the management of acute and chronic medical conditions, appropriate clinical decision-making, and coordination with other specialties to ensure safe and quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct OPD consultations and provide comprehensive clinical assessment of patients.
- Take detailed medical history and perform appropriate physical examinations.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Develop and prescribe appropriate treatment plans based on clinical assessment and investigation findings.
- Review and interpret laboratory and diagnostic reports and correlate them with the patient's clinical condition.
- Monitor admitted patients and provide timely clinical interventions.
- Assess and initiate management of medical emergencies and arrange appropriate referral/escalation when required.
- Coordinate with consultants, specialists, nursing staff and other healthcare professionals for multidisciplinary patient care.
- Maintain accurate, complete and timely clinical documentation and medical records.
- Ensure appropriate follow-up and continuity of care.
- Counsel patients and attendants regarding diagnosis, treatment, medication, diet, lifestyle modification and preventive healthcare.




- Ensure rational and safe prescribing practices.
- Follow hospital clinical protocols, infection prevention and control practices, patient safety standards and applicable statutory requirements.
- Participate in clinical meetings, audits, training programs and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and professional ethical standards.
- Perform other clinical responsibilities assigned by the Medical Superintendent/Clinical Head within the scope of professional practice.

Required Qualifications

- MBBS from a recognized medical institution.
- MD/DNB in General Medicine – Mandatory.
- Valid registration with NMC / State Medical Council, as applicable.
- Relevant experience in General Medicine / Internal Medicine will be preferred.
- Candidates must have completed the required internship and possess valid medical registration.

- Experience in managing both OPD and IPD patients will be an advantage.
- Candidates with experience in handling medical emergencies and critically ill patients will be preferred.

Pay: ₹150,000.00 - ₹300,000.00 per month
