A Pediatric Occupational Therapist specializing in Autism and ADHD (AuDHD) helps neurodivergent children develop the sensory, motor, and executive functioning skills needed to thrive in daily life. This specialized role focuses on using neurodiversity-affirming practices to support emotional regulation, social communication, and functional independence across home, school, and play environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Sensory Evaluations: Conduct comprehensive sensory profiling to identify hyper- or hypo-reactivity to sensory input (tactile, vestibular, proprioceptive).
- Individualized Interventions: Design play-based therapy targeting emotional regulation, motor planning, and body awareness using sensory integration techniques.
- Executive Function Support: Create tailored visual schedules, task-demasking steps, and organizational systems to help children with ADHD manage transitions and daily routines.
- Neurodiversity-Affirming Advocacy: Help children understand their own unique nervous systems and build self-advocacy skills rather than forcing compliance or masking traits.
- Collaborative Care: Partner closely with parents, school educators, and speech therapists to build supportive, low-arousal environments at home and in the classroom.

Write measurable, function-based goals focused on independence and participation in daily life, tracking clinical progress accurately.

Qualifications and Education

- Degree: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university.
- Licensure: Active state or national registration/licensure (e.g., NBCOT in the US, AIOTA or local state council registration in India).
- Specialized Training: Certifications or extensive continuing education in Sensory Integration (Ayres Sensory Integration), Trauma-Informed Care, or Neurodiversity-Affirming Practices is highly preferred.

Essential Skills

- Deep Neurodivergent Insight: Solid clinical understanding of the overlapping and sometimes conflicting traits of co-occurring Autism and ADHD.
- Patience & De-escalation: High emotional intelligence and the ability to coregulate with a child during periods of sensory overload or emotional dysregulation.
- Creative Problem-Solving: Flexibility to adapt therapy sessions on the fly based on the child's fluctuating attention levels or sensory needs.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
